The preached Word of Scripture and the reception of the Living Word via the Sacrament of the Eucharist are co-equally the centrepiece of Divine Liturgy and the Lordโs Day worship. To uplift one above the other is to neglect the command of Christ and to cause unbiblical division.
โIf water be not really the laver of regeneration, why should bread and wine be spiritually the body and blood of Christ, and convey strength and refreshment to the soul?โ - Daniel Waterland
@becomelutheran Too be fair, I wouldn't lump Anglicans in the broader reformed tradition. We took from it but also did not go to the same lengths as say the continent. There is more in line between us than say the Dutch Reformed. Much of the disagreements are a misunderstanding.
@becomelutheran I know in most my circles we would attest to and affirm. Also there is a deep and long defense of utilizing "spiritually" against Roman carnality, which I don't think I'd find any Lutheran to be opposed to our utility. Spiritually isn't any less real.
Brothers, as a classical, Old highchurchman Anglican, what would be your biggest and most deeply cutting theological argument that you'd employ to convince me to convert to Eastern Orthodoxy, in any of its flavors?
