@RitaMolino6 Hi Rita- sorry was a bit late in responding but I really enjoyed responding to the questions. I couldn't figure out how to edit some of my comments to include #tncohort so some don't have it.
@RitaMolino6 A9 - #tncohort in my previous school lower level EAL students were sometimes being treated as if they were unable to learn the class content and were not being given appropriate Differentiation, so I initiated a staff PD and provided teachers with lots of strategies.
@RitaMolino6 A8- #tncohort usually our school provides us with high quality PD however I find the PTC has great online PD opportunities. https://t.co/SugQDEiZXC
@RitaMolino6 A6- #tncohort I have been lucky and have had a variety of different PD. Most recently we did Kagan workshop, Assessment best practices, IB workshops, Google and Apple educator training.
@RitaMolino6 A5- #tncohort At my school we have many different opportunities for PD. It ranges from collaborative team PD led by in-house experts to IB workshops or even TTC. PD is ongoing even through covid times which I really love about my school.
@RitaMolino6 We have time for some type of pd every Monday afternoon at our school. Our recent focus has been on analysing MAP data as well as planning for Differentiation. In Feb I hope to participate in a PYP inclusion online workshop. PD at my school is a priority and I am really lucky!
@RitaMolino6 I've learnt to be more open and confident with others observing my teaching. I've learnt that I don't have to be perfect but that I need to be well prepared for every lesson. #tncohort
@RitaMolino6 I learnt how important it is to have a solid work team and how important relationships are with colleagues. Especially during these difficult times it was my team that helped me get through the last few weeks of school before the break! #tncohort
@RitaMolino6 I like to spend a lot of time having the students get to know each other through different speaking activities or presentations on their culture. I also make sure to know the different holidays they celebrate so as to celebrate them in the classroom.
I find throwing out some random questions during morning advisory time/attendance makes it a little more exciting-bonus is getting to know my students a little better 😊 #remotelearning#distancelearning
