University debate, "Were humans built to eat meat?", same two chairs, same clock.
Vegan: "Anatomically we're closer to the gorilla than the lion. Flat molars, long gut. A gentle plant-eater with delusions."
Paleoanthropologist: "Then explain the acid."
Vegan: "Which acid?"
Paleoanthropologist: "Your stomach runs at a pH of about 1.5. A lion's sits nearer 3.6. Yours is stronger than the animal you've just been contrasted with, by a factor of about a hundred."
Vegan: "Stomach acid digests food."
Paleoanthropologist: "A cow's rumen sits at about 6.5. That's a compost heap with a pulse. Yours strips the zinc off a coin. Why would a gentle plant-eater carry that?"
Vegan: "Protection."
Paleoanthropologist: "From what? Lettuce doesn't fight back."
Vegan: "Bacteria."
Paleoanthropologist: "Which bacteria live in a leaf at a level that needs a pH of 1.5? Name the salad."
Vegan: "..."
Paleoanthropologist: "The animals that run acid as low as ours are the scavengers. Vultures. Things that arrive at a carcass on the second day and need to kill what's already living in it. We're not built like the lion. We're built like the bird that waits for the lion to finish."
Vegan: "Flattering."
Paleoanthropologist: "It's a picture of a species with a rock, a sharp flake and no claws. You don't get the fresh kill. You get the femur nobody could open, forty hours late, and you'd better have the acid for it."
Vegan: "Acid that strong is dangerous. Look how many people are on tablets for it."
Paleoanthropologist: "The only animal on earth that pays to switch its stomach off. You've spent sixty years pouring cereal onto a carcass digester and now you're medicating the digester for doing its job."
Vegan: "So your argument is that we're vultures."
Paleoanthropologist: "My argument is a number. Yours is a feeling about gorillas. The gorilla eats for most of the day and its gut is a fermentation tank. Yours is done in a few hours and runs on acid. One of you is designed for leaves."
Moderator: "Thirty seconds."
Paleoanthropologist: "She can keep them. I'm still waiting on the salad."

He tried fighting but was immediately knocked out 🤣
Instant FAFO
There is so much that could be said about this week's giveaway.
I will simply hit the main points:
A man, Jordan Salinas, who seems to dig Splinter Cell went from live action role play to live action and likely saved many lives in Twin Falls, Idaho at the @innoutburger in doing so.
We celebrate that in today's litigious culture this man chose to risk his life and his liberty by doing the righteous thing. He held to his convictions by going armed and by running towards the direction of gunfire, of imminent danger. Reports are that he rendered medical aid after the gunfire ceased, as well.
In honor of this man and that masculine sacrificial heroic American spirit that runs, not away from conflict, but that fights for the opportunity to get between evil and goodness, and effectively, Rascal is proud to do a little LARPing himself.
Today, dressed as Jordan, Rascal offers up an FN Five-seveN 5.7x28mm pistol with fde frame and black slide!
We thank @SummRidge for sponsoring yet another giveaway!

Since Flock loves to track our locations, it only seems fair that we know theirs.
Flock Safety's new GA plant is located at 1885 Mitchell Rd, Smyrna, GA 30082
Flock went to great lengths to keep that address hidden.
That probably means it should be public info.
1% of people account for 63% of all violent crimes.
0.2% of people ever commit murder, and **67% of all murders**are committed by people with prior arrests
You can literally just fix crime by not tolerating people who show a history of being destructive to society.
Op-ed: Half the inmates released by former NC Gov. Roy Cooper during Covid have been rearrested (18 for murder). The media's silence is deafening.

Dr. Kelly Starrett has a simple philosophy. We should train to live, not live to train.
He's helped athletes, teams, and everyday people build bodies that can handle the real demands of life.
In this episode, Kelly (@thereadystate) breaks down how to think about pain, mobility, warmups, breathwork, recovery, and movement in a way that is practical, durable, and built for real life.
We even get into youth sports—why so many kids burn out, why sleep and fueling are foundational for young athletes, why early specialization can backfire, and why play, broad movement skills, and better coaching may be the missing pieces in developing healthy, durable kids.
If you want a more practical framework for lifelong performance, this is an episode you do not want to miss.
