No one is upset about alcohol sales expanding. They're upset that the Ford government is spending millions to sunset the beer store contract in order to achieve it. He could wait until the contract expires in a year and achieve the same thing without passing away money.
Someone just asked me this:
"Ford is spending over $50 Billion more PER YEAR than the previous liberal governments... where did all of that money go? services are falling apart left and right."
I don't have an answer but I sure hope RCMP, auditor etc do #Onpoli#ON#Onhealth
ERs continue to have closures.
The nursing shortage is at a crisis level.
Millions of Ontarians are without a family doctor.
School boards are laying off teachers.
And yet, boosting alcohol sales continues to be a priority for Doug Ford’s @OntarioPCParty government.
Hey #Ontario, one thing Premier Ford has remained consistent on, and has had some success with, is making it easier to purchase alcohol.
He's trying to keep you drunk so you'll forget he's failed you in every other way. 🤷♂️
@fordnation
Ontarian: I can't afford my rent !
Doug Ford: Beer ?
Ontarian: I need a family doctor !
Doug Ford: Beer ?
Ontarian: Gun violence is up !
Doug Ford: Tail Gate party ?
Ontarian: I can't afford food !
Doug Ford: Be-ee-eee-rr ?
*This is exactly what happens when people don't vote!
Global News requested all communications between Metrolinx CEO Phil Verster and Ford’s Chief of Staff Patrick Sackville.
Verster shared text messages.
Sackville did not.
This is one of the appeals the Information and Privacy Commissioner is working on.

NEW: As questions continue to swirl over the use of Gmail for government businesses at Queen’s Park, Global News can reveal that Premier Doug Ford’s chief of staff appears to have not disclosed text messages in an FOI request.

It was the accountability officers, reporters, opposition parties, and ultimately the public, that together successfully forced Doug Ford to capitulate today and reverse his corrupt decision to sell off the Greenbelt. That’s something to celebrate! Now, bring in the RCMP.
Three weeks after the passing of Raymond Moriyama the Ford government is dismantling the Goh Ohn Bell, on Monday as part of its ongoing assault on Ontario Place. His contribution here is culturally significant on so many levels. This is deeply shameful. Heartless government.
I’m here at Ontario Place with the Japanese Temple Bell. I’ve been told on Monday, on behalf of an Austrian company (preempting the City’s review), the province will remove this. Like we did for the Greenbelt, when our government isn’t on our side, the people will take a stand.
Make no mistake. Doug Ford isn’t returning the Greenbelt back because it is the right thing to do. He doubled down on this for months & recently mused about opening it up more.
This is only happening because of the mounting pressure and how bad the scandal has gotten. #onpoli
BREAKING: Premier Doug Ford says his government will completely reverse the Greenbelt land swap decision.
“It was a mistake to open the Greenbelt.”

After 11 months of dogged reporting from The Narwhal and beyond, Doug Ford has succumbed to public pressure and walked back his controversial Greenbelt plans. It highlights the role of independent journalism, @balkissoon writes in this week’s newsletter. https://t.co/zeBqQKZgee

How’s this for peak irony?
Doug Ford has spent millions of dollars in court fighting to keep mandate letters hidden - and they all say “be accountable and transparent and restore trust in government”.
