📍 Indianapolis Indiana | Carmel High School’s indoor facility is better than a number of NFL and Division I football facilities I’ve seen. Absolutely first class.
Colts statement: “We’re happy for the Bears and wish them the best in their stadium initiative. We also hope this will mean great things for community and economic development for our fellow Hoosiers in northwest Indiana."
Hoosiers, help me welcome the Chicago Bears to our great state!
We look forward to building a partnership as strong as the '85 Bears defense, creating opportunities and economic growth that will benefit our state and the Bears organization for decades to come.
An NFL franchise in Northwest Indiana will be an economic boost to the entire region like we haven’t seen before.
Thank you to Speaker Huston, the legislature, and Mayor McDermott for their partnership. I also want to thank the entire Chicago Bears organization for their partnership and commitment in making this move a reality.
Welcome to Indiana!
Breaking: The Bears’ Board of Directors voted Thursday to advance the stadium development in Hammond, Indiana.
“There is more work to do, but barring anything very strange, it’s a done deal,” one source told @AdamSchefter.
The Chicago Bears have agreed to terms with 1st round pick S Dillon Thieneman and 2nd round pick C Logan Jones, per @MikeGarafolo and @RapSheet
Draft class is starting to sign their deals. 👀
Unbelievable what Indiana has pulled off to lure the Chicago Bears to Indiana!
The Region will be revitalized for 1st time in half of a century.
Just think the state of Indiana is about to have 2 NFL teams! Wow! Bear Down!
The #Bears are expected to announce today their board of directors have voted and they will be focused on Hammond moving forward as the future site of their stadium, two legislative sources said. @thescorechicago@mullyhaugh
@jcesak@joyfulnoyz@jus10chi And to add what NDJim said, look at the Indianapolis' Colts deal. The Bears would have an almost identical deal in Hammond. The Colts get half of all money generated at non-Colts events held at Lucas Oil Stadium too. https://t.co/sLpOxNG4Su
Luke Ertel is preparing for "the biggest change of my life," after this week with the Indiana All-Stars wraps up and steps onto Purdue's campus as a freshman. Read more on Ertel: https://t.co/AAKEGkhBYd
If Hammond and Indiana want a stadium answer from the Bears at any point, they can just pull their offer.
The Bears' immediate response will tell them everything they need to know.
"Hammond should tell the Bears to get lost," @ProFootballTalk says. "Because I don't think the Bears are serious about going there.
"Frankly, that would be the best way to get the Bears to put their cards on the table."
Craig Counsell on the Cubs' stretch: "We're not winning a lot of baseball games right now ... and we're not playing well enough to win a lot of baseball games. You have to earn it and we're not earning it."
