@MolloyLaurence I’m still here but slowly extracting myself, the friendly community is largely gone so it’s a news and info service for me now. I’ve had enough of the blue tick brigade.
@recantha I think they are trying to build a branded ecosystem of products presumably with guaranteed compatibility and quality. Also no doubt to improve revenue as they have investors to answer to.
@foxy_michael@tfwrail It's seems to be vastly more complex in pricing and zoning than the Metrolink system in Manchester. I'm not convinced it will be easy for anyone to understand.
@LlanharanNeil@tfwrail @huw4ogmore It’s truly terrible for the people of Llanharan, it gets the worst mainline service on the entire TfW network and the fare increased by £25 for a return earlier this year.
@recantha Ethically implemented and used it can be positive and low impact e.g. edge AI tasks like object recognition in cameras. For me I’m increasingly concerned we are training generative AI without remuneration or permission for the source material which is unethical.
30+ year dreams came true at #emfcamp when I won the demo category of @fx_field, best of all my demo was about all you wonderful people who make @emfcamp so magical including you @emfSpiders and @EmfDucks https://t.co/s9T2HixDBh
@biglesp You are doing great, you know your topics and write about interesting subjects. I think even the best people go through this. Just remember there are always people interested to read what you write.
@tfwrail Seems to affect the Mk4s (so basically all TfW services) as well as I'm on the 8.49 to Manchester today and WiFi does not work. I think you have a universal outage.
@tfwrail is there a problem with train WiFi at the moment? The WiFi on the Cardiff to Manchester route (class 197 services) hasn't been working for a few weeks now
@tfwrail I had problems last week with the Tuesday CDF (7.50) -> MAN (11.15) and on Thursday with the MAN (15.30) -> CDF (18.58). I thnk a colleague was on the 7.50 CDF -> MAN today with a similar issue. Seems to be a recurring problem so I don't think it's a specific train issue.
@MolloyLaurence Agreed, high pay is justified by the responsibility taken on, the CEO puts their reputation on the line when they head a company so it is only right they take the biggest consquences for their actions if they knowingly and complicitly damage the company they head
@KeithHodgkin @foxy_michael True, I experienced that with the trams there, it would be nice if pricing in a Metro system is multi-modal, just pick the most efficient transport for your needs.
