@joekent16jan19 The fact that our bases in the Middle East were evacuated before we attacked Iran shows that the Dept of War agrees. Those bases are a liability.
@chamath The 3% ($65-70B) of revenue paid by the bottom half does not include the ~-13% ($350-360B) received in refundable tax credits, etc. Taken as a whole, the IRS is already sending far more money to the bottom half than it collects from them.
@ggreenwald If the US evacuated military bases in middle east before this war, what was the point of having those bases? They should not be rebuilt, they should be permanently closed.
The whole idea of "incompetent to stand trial" is fucking nonsense. If you're too "incompetent" to understand that you shouldn't butcher an innocent woman on the train, you should die. Period. Arrest, convict, execute. You are not fit to be a part of human society. How many more innocent people must we sacrifice for the sake of coddling and babying the absolute scum of the Earth? Our ancestors had it right. They would have had this guy hanging from the gallows an hour after conviction. The old system of justice was light years better than this insane bullshit we're dealing with now.
@lhfang Our country is getting "hollowed out" by out of control federal spending. These reductions are exactly what is needed. We spend way too much on Israel. But that doesn't make budget cuts elsewhere a bad thing.
No! We need the Pols to get the F out of the way. We can do this by ourselves. All your "Industrial Development Bank" would do is provide more fraud money for the grift. @RoKhanna stop trying to provide solutions: everytime a Pol provides a solution it becomes the problem!
@Villgecrazylady This is the greatest policy statement I've ever heard from Trump! He's right. The fed govt has no business (or constitutional authority) providing daycare, etc. And the best, most conservative part: lower federal taxes and let the states raise taxes to pay for it.
@america Why now? It passed the House 10 months ago! Amending the bill means it has to go back to the House. He's just trying to make it look like progress while continuing to delay.
@SecKennedy@KatieMiller Great progress. However, if you've cut out processed foods, you probably don't need to cut back on salt. Having too little salt is more dangerous than having too much.
