@FreddyLA7 Quick cowboy hat lesson for y’all. The loose ends of the hatband on a cowboy hat should ALWAYS be worn on the left side. Also, when you meet a lady for the first time AND you are shaking her hand, remove your hat as you meet her. It’s simple etiquette.
@LeahRay44@Wavejenny Speaking of “bare”, it’s absolutely the best place on a road trip to take a restroom break!!! Just go. You’ll figure it out. Buy some pepper turkey jerky while you’re there, too.
Our hearts are heavy tonight.
Please join me in praying for the family of DPS Trooper Sergio Romero, who was killed in the line of duty today near Childress while serving and protecting his fellow Texans.
Trooper Romero leaves behind his wife, two young children, and countless friends and colleagues who are grieving this tremendous loss. As a member of DPS Recruit Class B-2025, he answered the call to serve and made the ultimate sacrifice in that service.
May God comfort his loved ones, his DPS family, and all who knew him. Rest in peace, Trooper Romero.
@SkylarSkye3 If you look only at population of each city within their city limits, Houston is 4th and Dallas is 9th. That can be misleading. Do a search for the metroplex (area as a whole; suburbs) and it all changes. If you look at the metroplex, Dallas/Ft Worth is 5th.
My thoughts after 3 months in the US/Texas🇺🇸:
- Americans are way more extroverted than Europeans
- Talking to strangers is normal here
- My first H-E-B trip felt like Boris Yeltsin seeing an American grocery store
- Some food is more artificial, but the amount of choices is insane
- You can still eat healthy. You just have to choose it
- High risk, high reward is real
- Way more people are entrepreneurial
- People dream bigger than in Europe, and they actually execute
- Obv not everyone is smarter, but the smart people are world-class
- Successful people here are way more down-to-earth. In Europe, successful people care about status and can be arrogant
- Cars. Enough said
- Americans have perfected artificial sweets
- There’s still more freedom here than in Europe
- One thing I didn’t expect: some Americans talk down on America
- As an outsider, that’s weird, because imo it’s still the greatest country on Earth🇺🇸🇺🇸
@FreddyLA7@NASA@AstroAnnimal Also, if you haven’t had Tex-Mex yet, stop at @PappasitosTXMEX in Webster. You’re really close to there right now. It’s a Houston tradition for TexMex.
