Former GOP Rep. @AdamKinzinger told CBS News that if the choice comes down to Biden or Trump in 2024, he'd vote for Biden:
"I don't even have to hesitate. Do I agree with everything Joe Biden's doing? No, of course not. He's a Democrat. I'm an old-school Republican, I'll say. But I believe he's a good man, and I believe he's focused on the Constitution. I believe he's not looking for reasons to violate the Constitution like Donald Trump is. I wouldn't hesitate at all."
Kinzinger also said he still considers himself a Republican:
"The only reason I'm not giving up the title is I refuse to let the anti-constitutionalist side win. Every democracy in my mind needs a liberal or a progressive movement and a conservative movement because that tug and pull – that push and pull - is what actually makes a country advance at the right speed – not always perfectly. I'll continue to fight for the GOP, but that doesn't mean I'm voting GOP. I'm not because they're an anti-constitutionalist party at the moment."
Rules for thee, not for me. More Republican hypocrisy.
BTW, her full name is Nimrata Nikita Randhawa. She prefers her middle name and shortened it to Nikki. She got married in 1996 to Michael Haley. Hence, Nikki Haley.
SCOOP: The Texas Historical Commission removed books on slavery from plantation site gift shops.
An agency spokesperson claimed that the move had nothing to do with politics. Internal emails show otherwise. My latest for @TexasMonthly.

In a few minutes, the Supreme Court will start to hear arguments in a case designed to kill the wealth tax.
I'll say again... there is nothing that you care about that the Supreme Court cannot destroy while you aren't watching.
Did you know?
"Ghost Apples" are a phenomenon happening when freezing rain coats rotting apples before they fall.
When the rotting apple becomes mushy, it falls out of the bottom leaving its icy shell behind.
These ghost apples were spotted in Michigan.

This is such a crucial distinction - and a key point about what animates the American Right more broadly. I find the “Republicans are just Putin’s puppets” talk really misleading - it misses the point: Both are pursuing a project of anti-liberal, ethno-religious nationalism. 1/
