Why is she involved with TV at all? The strategy she seems to have presented won't work within the framework of a TV network.

She is likely to play heavily to the right to try and win over people who are convinced that the Mainstream Media is nothing but woke lies.

Both Bari Weiss and Tony Dokoupil seem to be catering to that group. On one of Tony's first broadcasts he spoke of how he has traveled the country and spoke to many regular people who no longer believed what they were told by the mainstream media. He seemed to defer and agree with them. Sure the mainstream media has it's faults but many of those regular people Tony "spoke" with have been fed diet of media lies for years.

Rather than just cater to those who feel they "have not been heard", I hope to see them point out/showcase/educate people on both sides of the spectrum how they've been misled.

Just presenting the "facts" and letting people decide is cop-out. Things have gotten so far off the rails that, that approach is expecting too much from a broad audience.

It will also be interesting to see if there is an audience of any size that will gravitate towards it.

@brianstelter Does she have a plan to look the viewer in the eye and address viewpoints that, now embedded, have been built on mountains of innuendo, half-truths and outright lies? That both-sides piece on January 6th gave me little confidence that she will do so.

It was tough to see some of the recent shows where you could see him gutting through it. I stumbled on his show a few years back and he got me hooked. He certainly did it his way.
