@StuDoesAmerica@LandauDave Touchless ID with TSA doesn't have an extra cost. You just need to set it up in the airline's app ahead of your flight (assuming you already have pre-check on your ticket). You basically give them your passport number, and they mark it on your pass.
@siracusa@atpfm The show notes for this week's episode had links to all of Marco's tools and the deflator you use, but I wanted to see the tape you use in your car that you mentioned. I'm using gaffer's tape to stick a cable down to some leather, but it doesn't stay down long
@DisTouristBlog Thanks for the recent update to the post about discounted Disney gift cards! I used the https://t.co/XeOsOj13K0 10% off, and my cards just came, and fully worked on Disney's site. I was a little nervous, but it turned out well!
@atpfm regarding Casey’s suggestion people try Mac Virtual Display, I tried hard to do this with my father on my own Apple Vision Pro, but it’s not possible using Guest Mode (at least with visionOS 1). I would have had to wipe it and set it up as his
@RecDiffs@siracusa I’m sorry if a bunch of people already sent this to you, but were you thinking of German Chocolate Cake, named for Sam German who came up with it?
Back to #Arsenal, baby! After the summer break, we discuss Arsenal's coming season, including transfers and predictions, a Gooner U origin story, the Summer Olympics, and Arsenal's new Third Kit.

@RecDiffs@siracusa@hotdogsladies I have a very strange snap-to-grid name… My name is Dov (pronounced "he dove into the pool"), but when someone hears it over the phone for the first time, they often hear "Bill". No letters in common! Even Siri VM transcription has done this!
@daringfireball It didn’t get any coverage on Apple blogs, but Twitter kicked out @TheBabylonBee because of a satirical post, which was a large motivational factor for @elonmusk to buy Twitter (he likes the Bee, and has podcasted with them)

@Andrew_OSU@stephenrobles This weekend I lost power to my house, but was still able to interact with my August lock using their app. In a future driven by HomeKey, will that be a possibility? I didn’t try locking or unlocking through HomeKit, but am pretty sure it wouldn’t work.
@siracusa@atpfm at film school, a classmate or I was scolded for using the term “gaff tape” (like everyone else did). This seasoned professional told us to say “gaffer’s tape” (saying something the the effect of “a gaff is a mistake - it has nothing to do with this tool”)
@danielpunkass I may have just missed it on @coreint, but did you say what you moved to from FogBugz? I’m also in search of alternatives. Jira seems obvious and I know it from my day job, but using it is a little more involved than FogBugz is/was

Well, it's almost official. I've given the forms to the clerk of the board to get my name on the Rhinebeck School Board ballot.

@jsnell While listening to the Hawkeye Incomparable episodes, someone mentioned (I think it was you?) the hardcover, which I then bought. I’m reading it now, just finishing issue 5. Issue 7 followed, and then 6. Does your copy do the same? Is my copy a misprint? 🤨
@stephenrobles@Andrew_OSU Third, their customer service has been great (I’ve used their non-smart switches for a while too), and from hearing it on the phone, I’m pretty sure they pronounce it like a town name: “Lehvit tin” (4/4)
@stephenrobles@Andrew_OSU I’m using the Leviton dimmers (and a couple of switches) throughout my house, and like many things about them (though they sometimes seem to have trouble with my network). Let me point out a few things I hope are helpful: (1/4)
@stephenrobles@Andrew_OSU Second, there’s an awesome feature I would call essential when setting up a house full of them: pull out the dimmer rocker with your fingernail to physically disable the switch. If you turn one switch at a time back on, it’ll be trivial to identify when adding to HomeKit. (3/4)
