Last night was our annual Sports Dinner, an opportunity to celebrate individual and team success and development. Thank you to Mr and Mrs Jones for organising the event and our Catering team for the delicious meal.

Senior School Sports Day 2024 was a brilliant event - sunshine (eventually), a hugely supportive atmosphere, and several school records broken! Well done to all involved, from competitors to staff and supporters. This year's winning house was School House.

Shell (Year 7) pupils made medieval castles as part of a voluntary prep project in History. The Headmaster enjoyed visiting the department this afternoon to view them and award prizes.

Staff and pupils arrived back with a spring in their step yesterday, and many were delighted to see the signs of life and colour around the site, with daffodils blooming outside the chapel and snowdrops on The Close. We look forward to a wonderful second half of term!

Our Careers Department are busy preparing for the upcoming Careers Fair in March. Pupils will have the opportunity to meet employers from a wide array of sectors, from marketing to the space industry as well as talking to top universities.

As part of their Jigsaw PSHE project on helping others, Prep School children have been working on their own fundraising initiatives. Today, one group sold dipped fruit as a healthy snack during break time. They were very successful, and their produce was gratefully received.

As part of their Business course, Upper Sixth pupils have been coming up with ideas for events which they can run in school. Yesterday, a group of pupils presented their idea to SLT.

Prep 6 pupils are currently learning about the Tudors. As part of their learning, they went to the Refectory yesterday to make gingered bread following a Tudor recipe. They are looking forward to a tasting session today!

This week, Fourth Form Spanish pupils talked to their Spanish pen pals for the first time. They discussed the differences between their two schools and introduced themselves individually. They will repeat the experience next week and talk more about Madrid and Spanish culture.

Our Prep School pupils engaged wholeheartedly with NSPCC's Number Day 2024 yesterday, following an assembly on this from Prep 5. During the course of the day, they celebrated numbers and raised money for NSPCC.

There is much excitement at Dover College as we begin to work on the initial stages of The Dovorian, for its return in 2024. Going through the archive has proved a real trip down memory lane, both in terms of news stories, photography, and typography!

The teachers in the Early Tears have orchestrated a delightful journey of learning for our youngest pupils this week, fostering their curiosity about animals. The children were introduced to a sensory farmyard made from a variety of cereal and cooked spaghetti.

We are delighted to announce that, after a hiatus of over a decade, The Dovorian returns! It will include news stories relating to life at the College, the school’s history and Old Dovorians. The 2023/24 edition, which will adopt a modern format, will be published in the autumn.
