👏As Public Realm Advisor to the Eastbourne Society and a campaigner to save this building with @C20Society we are so pleased to have reached this new design revision. In continuing to work with #Capreon we are hopeful of the right result for Eastbourne. @BBCSussex@bbcsoutheast
NEWS // Delighted to reveal that a key department store at risk - Eastbourne’s former TJ Hughes - looks to be saved from demolition. New plans would see the façade restored, ground floor kept for commercial use and 65 apartments accommodated in the upper floors… #C20Campaigns
@LightningFibre Thank you for replying. Whilst this is an entirely inappropriate location and I would ideally like to see it moved, I have some ideas to reduce its impact and will certainly give you a call to see what can be done.
Eastbourne's TJ Hughes closed in 2019 and was slated for demolition. We think it's too good to lose and could have a bright future. Thanks @BBCSussex for having us on the breakfast show to talk about our new report, Departing Stores https://t.co/ssbmoWZYow
@LightningFibre This cabinet is an absolute disgrace. It is huge, unsightly and right outside a beautiful heritage garden wall. Fitting of it has created a huge scar in the paving and this is all in the College Conservation Area-where is your consideration of that?
@createstreets Yes indeed @createstreets - this is just the tip of the iceberg - it’s a daily task in Eastbourne to try and spot the telltale white spray paint and try and stop the inevitable tarmac porridge ‘repair’ - 😭
