@mohol_murlidhar All these announcements since the beginning of May mention that the first dose of Covaxin won't be given. So how did people eligible for the second dose today manage to get the first dose in May? Makes one wonder.
@mohol_murlidhar We live in Karvenagar, Pune. We even visited some of the hospitals in our vicinity to attempt walk in vaccination, but we were either told that Covaxin is not available or that they are not administering the first dose at the moment.
@mohol_murlidhar My parents (both aged 60+) and I have been trying to get Covaxin but have not been able to. Probably due to technical difficulties, registration had not been possible on CoWin earlier. Later when we managed to register, no dates appeared to be available.
@sanchetd I think most of us do that. Remember fountain pens from school? It's the memories we made while using something that make us hold on to it. I'd say, take your time to detach memories from objects. Keep the memories and let the rest go..
@sanchetd Absolutely not! You're transforming something logical into something fun! I wish I had Super Dons and Aliens and Transformers in my maths and physics.
@sanchetd In medicine 3D machines similar to CT scans are being developed for studying human anatomy before getting to a cadaver. The same will be implemented for animal studies. Eventually the only reason for using instruments on animals would be to treat them. Let's hope it's done soon.
@sanchetd I believe something learned systematically and continuously is retained better than crash courses. So maybe reverse the first, second, etc. languages so that the regional languages are prioritized. English / necessary languages can still be taught alongside slowly over the years.
@sanchetd I think it might be 1-2 years for almost any language that's spoken everywhere around you, if taught consistently and correctly. "How to learn and become fluent in this subject" should be the first class for all subjects. We've all had to learn that ourselves.
@sanchetd And I totally agree with your reason for preferring e-books and e-Readers. Depending on the reasons for the presbyopia, certain exercises for the eyes might help.
@sanchetd At younger ages the brain has more neuroplasticity, i.e. ability to make connections. The better you study, the better it reaches the "default" part of your brain. You don't lose neuroplasticity with age, but the process slows down. You're more "open minded" at younger ages.
@sanchetd I remember my father enacting the stories he read or narrated to me. Looking back, I realize that it helped me to learn how to visualize and live inside something that's printed in black and white. Now, every time I read something, I am reminded that I have this gift for life.
@sanchetd The best gift to give children (or anyone) is to give them an experience, and so it is with stories. Make the stories come alive for them. Let them get wide eyed, or dewy eyed over what they see. Stories aren't just read, they're experienced..
