#WHO Director-General commends United States decision to support temporary waiver on intellectual property rights for COVID-19 vaccines. Great news. Key to expanding production capacity and increasing access to vaccines for the most vulnerable and poorest. https://t.co/Kkzb0ytr0t
Experience from countries with rapid rollout of vaccines shows that they are working, especially in reducing hospitalizations and deaths among vaccinated groups. What we need now is to increase supplies & distribute available doses fairly across all countries @GaviSeth@DrTedros

Very enthusiastic interventions on the discussion of #disability. As requested in the resolution adopted at #EB148, @WHO will strengthen its support to the countries to improve data collection, share knowledge & experience & integrate disability in its programs & core functions.
Much appreciated for the countries proposed the decision under the leadership of #Namibia. #EB148 today adopted it with a overwhelming support. @WHO is aligning the development of the 3 interlinked strategies & global targets with those of @UNAIDS@GlobalFund # other partners.
Very productive discussion @WHO#EB148, which landed in the decision on promoting #mentalhealth preparedness & response for public health emergencies. Mental health & psychological support is an integral component in #COVID19 response. Thanks to #Thai & co-sponsors!
Honoured to speak with @VP@KamalaHarris today. I thanked her & President @JoeBiden for their commitment to @WHO & global health. I am also grateful to the new administration for advancing women's health & #ClimateAction. We look forward to continuing the 🇺🇸 & WHO partnership.
"More than 39 million doses of vaccine have now been administered in at least 49 higher-income countries.
Just 25 doses have been given in one lowest-income country.
Not 25 million; not 25 thousand; 25"-@DrTedros#EB148#COVID19#ACTogether
