@CreepinOG Do not use ivermectin with breeds that carry the MDR1 gene. Collies, Aussies, Borders, Cattle Dogs, Corgis, and several breeds carry the MDR1 gene. Ivermectin is toxic and can actually cause death. Go to Washington State University for information about the MDR1 gene.

@JustJennifer369 @ZakariaMDv3 It is not generally used for MDR1 breeds. But depending on the level of MDR1 factor the amount of Ivermectin in the Heartworm medication is very low dosage. It may be safe in certain circumstances. But yes dogs have died from Ivermectin.

@skymeds_store I’m not sure where you studied biology or parasitolology but your descriptions are way off. There is no “mother worm. There are no “egg sacks”. Yes there are parasites with very complex life cycles. Yes ivermectin and Fenbendazole are effective taken in the appropriate dosages.
