I research how to improve crop growth and yield by computational optimisation. My work will help select more productive crop varieties. #cropscience#cropPAL
As the Plants for Space Centre of Excellence moves into its next phase, today a few guests refreshed their knowledge on the work being done in the three of the labs to perfect the growth of plants in space for food, medicine and wellbeing.

Nice overview of directed evolution research underway in plants. DE means we don't need to always know what AAs to change, but we do need to understand mechanisms of what is to design clever selection screens for what could be. Enzyme biochemistry in plants needed more than ever!

Please meet our PhD student Gilang and learn about 'Gilang’s Attempt to Achieve SDG Zero Hunger by Developing Hybrid Crops' Good luck for your PhD studies, Gilang! https://t.co/P6Uc1pmaWo via @Indonesia Mengglobal @PlantEnergyBiol@SMS_UWA
@JamesPBLloyd@NTivendale I agree with @JamesPBLloyd: R is quick for some things. This data problem needs several files to be aligned and stacked/unstacked. A quick way: python with SQL tunnel to #cropPAL (not at last because I have pipeline codes for exactly this problem already)👩🍳 Lucky days!
At Q&A @WHO's @DrMikeRyan explains the theory behind limited breakthrough infections ⬇️ and says, "the single best thing you can do to protect your health is to get vaccinated."
TOMORROW: Do you help researchers write Research Software?
Join our consultation session on the draft Research Software Agenda for Australia. Let's make #ResearchSoftware recognised as a 1st-class output of research. On Thurs 29 July 1pm AEST https://t.co/fWCIuq2FmF #RSeng#RDM
Pyruvate transport and its role in supplying the TCA cycle in Arabidopsis. How do plant mitochondria eat and how do they get it to the table? Here are some of the answers! From @xuyenhale and Alex Lee @PlantEnergyBiol@SMS_UWA@uwanews https://t.co/Mzd8yBimj5
How do we increase wheat grain protein content? Introgression of a HMW glutenin selectively reshapes the grain proteome. Shows protein synthesis and degradation are both important. @PlantEnergyBiol@uwanews@MurdochUni#wheat

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the untimely death of Prof. Dan Tawfik, who died in a tragic climbing accident in Croatia.

Trying again the same thing everyone else has done before hoping for a different outcome = INSANITY. Trying again the same thing everyone else has done with a single small change and hoping for a different outcome = SCIENCE. Q.E.D. SCIENCE is close but not equal to INSANITY.
