What happens after tic suppression may matter as much as whether a child can suppress their tics.
New paper: 473 young people with tics:
🔹 ADHD traits linked to 2.64x greater odds of tic worsening after suppression
🔹 Autistic traits linked to tic onset ~2.4 years earlier
It's OCD Awareness Week. Each day this week our group will release one preprint from our OCD work: free to read, data on OSF, open to challenge. Day 1, today: our appraisal of NICE's draft OCD & BDD guideline, read against NICE's own numbers. Analysis done with @markparamlall over 18 days (17/9-5/10) - https://t.co/PwM13HXP1P

Can individual traits influence treatment response in Tourettic OCD?
Grateful for the opportunity to present our poster. Pilot study (n=7): a 12-week hybrid ERP+HbRT intervention improved tic and OCD severity. Higher impulsivity predicted poorer response.

@RahulChotai Extremely insightful post Rahul. I would tremendously value the opportunity to talk about how the substantial degree of psychological pressure can be mitigated and how we could use psychological theories to enhance both driver and team performance.
An incredible achievement! 🙌
We are delighted to see #TheNationalHospital feature twice in @Newsweek's list of the world's best specialised hospitals ranking #5 in neurology and #6 in neurosurgery! View the rankings ➡️ https://t.co/2eRzy5HAhl
Extremely grateful for the @neurolib team for allowing me access to this text by Sigmund Freud. The collection of rare books, archives and manuscripts, dating from the 4th century to the present day is absolutely outstanding. @UCLSpecColl#CerebralPalsy#CerebralParalysis
