Remembering & celebrating Richard Rwatooro Baguma 🕯️

Today, Friday, 4 September 2026, we gather to honour the life and legacy of Counsel Richard Rwatooro Baguma, an alumnus of Cavendish University Uganda and former President of the Cavendish Law Society.

His contribution to social justice was outstanding. As friends, family, colleagues and comrades come together to celebrate his life, we remember not only the lawyer, environmentalist and activist but also the person whose presence touched countless lives in countless ways.

May his memory forever remain a blessing.

When @kizzabesigye1 collapsed in court and was admitted to Mulago ICU, they claimed he was pretending and forcefully took him to Luzira staff clinic. Where judge Baguma, who's denied him bail 4 times, tried to force him to attend court via zoom.

@kizzabesigye1 But they've been lying to the country that he's fearing trial. His wife @Winnie_Byanyima has been asking them to release him on bail,so she can have him treated in specialized hospitals in Geneva, but they have refused.
