🚨🚨🚨OUTRAGEOUS! An Oklahoma Woman with with a non-viable pregnancy says the hospital told her to sit in the parking lot “until you bleed out.”
Jaci Statton, 25, was sick and bleeding from her partial molar pregnancy but the Oklahoma abortion ban prevented doctors from performing any procedure to help her remove the life threatening tissue.
"Oklahoma has three abortion bans in effect, and each of them has different language in describing the medical exceptions," says Rabia Muqaddam, senior staff attorney at the Center for Reproductive Rights. "It's resulted in extreme confusion about what constitutes a sufficient health condition for a doctor to provide a medically necessary abortion."
"A team of doctors and specialists came in and told us, 'There's nothing that we can do according to Oklahoma law. We can't even really touch you,'" Jaci recalls.
Jaci’s story is like potentially thousands like her. Women’s freedom isn’t just about choices, it’s literally about life and death.
If you are or have a wife, daughter, mother, or friend, we need to think about women’s freedom on a personal level. Their lives could be next.
If you roll your eyes at or mock a MH professional who references a Full Moon, I’m going to go ahead and assume you don’t have any/much experience in crisis work or a psych ED.
Republicans in the KY House just passed one of the most extreme anti-trans bills in America.
This cruel bill rips away parents' rights and puts the government between doctors and their patients.
They're endangering kids' lives to score political points.
“Women are far more likely to be diagnosed with BPD than men. In fact, about 75% of people diagnosed with BPD are women; that's a ratio of 3 women to 1 man diagnosed with BPD. Researchers do not know why there is this gender difference.”
They don’t?
Total ban on all gender affirming care for minors bill passed the KY House today. Another Senate Bill essentially makes it illegal for a man to dress as a woman or a woman as a man in public spaces.
Guys, pay attention! The hate is being kindled. Our work is not over!!!
Quit my ABA job with no two week notice. One thing I will not do is make a child, neurodiverse or not, do something they don’t want to do for the sake of data and billing.
You know what really bothers me?
When people talk of someone who died saying, "now they can run free and not be wheelchair bound" or "now they are free of [insert physical disability here]."
First of all, they are wheelchair users, not bound.

I wish that more mental health professionals took the time to look at how centered in Christianity they are & how that impacts the work they do with non Christian clients
"High functioning" doesn't mean you struggle less than other people. It means you're less inconvenient for the people around you.
And that's why we push back on functioning labels.
Autistic people are often criticised for “reading too much into things” and “assuming” the worst, but usually what we deduce is highly accurate, thanks to our pattern-spotting and dot-connecting abilities. I think the real issue is we typically unearth truths others want hidden.
For over two decades, AAMFT, along with tens of thousands of MFTs, has advocated for this very deserved right to practice and serve a large population in need of mental health services. We are thrilled to announce that the Mental Health Access Improvement Act has passed!
