Today seems to be one for making guesses about the future of the impact of AI 😂 please allow me to add one more.
AI Impact has been very uneven and I've tried making sense of the magnitude and locations of the impact. Here's one breakdown by code base maturity.
The Style Discovery team is hiring a ML Engineer, who can bring their own creativity, to the team! We focus on transforming and scaling Stitch Fix's visibility into what people will love. (Production ML 😍) Let's see what we can build!

I am so excited to share the launch of our Elevate grant and mentorship program! We are partnering with @brandicedaniel and @HFRmovement to support and grow the next generation of BIPOC entrepreneurs in fashion. Spread the word!
Listening to Bob @AstroBehnken explain processing light, sound, and data in space to design a plan of action gave me a flashback to The Bob Test I proposed a few years ago....that we should be upping the bar set by the Turing Test to The Bob Test! Good luck Bob!
We're growing our team! I'd love your help finding incredible folks and giving them great options to consider for growing their career. If you need a panelist or speaker for your local bay area meetups or conferences, I'm all ears and would be happy to see what we can line up.
We have an opening on our team! We're looking for an idea to action person, someone who can imagine ways to transform how fashion inventory is purchased then implement ML features in our platform to make those ideas possible. If you're interested, message me with an idea!
After a chat about how to keep 9 year old girls engaged with STEM - there's one message I wish girls heard more often at that age. 'The biggest jewels you'll ever own are the ones you buy yourself.'
@ibringtraffic There are different types of growth teams. Admittedly growth hacker teams are optimizers, who can only optimize an existing trajectory. But core growth teams should be using gated growth mechanics for systematically cracking into new markets.
Call to Action: What if we drew a line and said, we will not let ML systems get worse for the most vulnerable members of our population. Guardrail Metrics fit into our existing systems and easily implemented for drawing that line today.
The Uncanny Vally of ML slides. @MLconf

Hello all, I could use a hand in testing out a new ML design. If you have 3 min please try it out here: https://t.co/3T0aLj6DkP As a thank you a copy of my favorite text book - an incredibly well written probability book that does not exist online will be raffled!

I am genuinely nervous about the power outages. Can someone run the numbers on proportion of fires started by power lines v our ability to evacuate and handle a fire without power? Especially when the power has been off for more than a day and many people's cell phones have died.
There's an idea I'd like to try out around efficient data storage and computation. If you know a startup whose cloud bill far out weighs its benefit, I'd love an intro.
I'm setting a few days up to visit South Bay folks before May 15th. Ping me if you're interested in catching up! I can also work for my lunch and give a tech talk :)
