गुजरात के छोटे से गाँव गोरखी में, जहाँ खेतों की मिट्टी अभी भी किसानों के पसीने से तर होती है, वहाँ एक अनपढ़ किसान विट्ठल भाई के घर एक बच्चा पैदा हुआ। नाम रखा गया **गणेश** लेकिन जैसे ही वह बड़ा हुआ, सबने देखा कि उसका कद रुक गया है। महज **3 फीट**। वजन 18-20 किलो। डॉक्टरों ने कहा ये **ड्वार्फिज्म** है, लाइलाज। शरीर का 72% हिस्सा लोकोमोटर डिसएबिलिटी से ग्रस्त।

बचपन कठिन था। गाँव के बच्चे हँसते, ताने मारते। 10 साल की उम्र में एक सर्कस वाली मंडली आई। उन्होंने माँ-बाप से कहा, "इस बच्चे को हमें दे दो, हम 5 लाख रुपये देंगे।" माँ देवुबेन की आँखों में आँसू आ गए। उन्होंने गणेश को सीने से लगाया और कहा, "मेरा बेटा कोई तमाशा नहीं, वो इंसान है... और बड़ा आदमी बनेगा।"

गणेश ने स्कूल में किताबें गले लगाईं। छोटे कद के कारण बेंच पर पैर नहीं पहुँचते थे, फिर भी आगे बैठता, हाथ उठाता, सवाल पूछता। दोस्त मदद करते, शिक्षक प्रोत्साहित करते। स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल ने एक दिन मजाक में कहा, "गणेश, इतने छोटे कद से डॉक्टर बन गए तो वर्ल्ड रिकॉर्ड बन जाएगा!" गणेश ने मुस्कुराकर कहा, "तो फिर रिकॉर्ड बनाकर दिखाता हूँ।"

12वीं साइंस में अच्छे नंबर आए। **NEET** दिया, पास हुआ। सपना सच होने वाला था डॉक्टर बनकर गाँव के गरीबों का इलाज करना। लेकिन...

मेडिकल काउंसिल ऑफ इंडिया ने फाइल देखी और कहा, "नहीं। इतने छोटे कद और डिसएबिलिटी के साथ मेडिकल प्रैक्टिस नहीं कर सकते।" एडमिशन रिजेक्ट।

दुनिया टूट गई। लेकिन गणेश ने हार नहीं मानी। परिवार ने हिम्मत बाँधी। स्कूल प्रिंसिपल, जिला कलेक्टर, शिक्षा मंत्री सबके पास गए। मदद मिली, लेकिन काफी नहीं। फिर गुजरात हाईकोर्ट का दरवाजा खटखटाया। हाईकोर्ट ने भी मना कर दिया।

अब रास्ता सिर्फ एक बचा था **सुप्रीम कोर्ट**।

लंबी कानूनी लड़ाई। वकील, कागज, सुनवाई, इंतजार। गणेश रोज़ सोचता, "अगर मैं हार गया तो मेरा सपना ही नहीं, उन हजारों बच्चों का हौसला भी टूट जाएगा जो मेरे जैसे हैं।" आखिरकार सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने फैसला सुनाया "योग्यता कद से नहीं, मेहनत और ज्ञान से मापी जाती है। एडमिशन दो।"

उस दिन गणेश की आँखों में आँसू थे, लेकिन मुस्कान भी। **गवर्नमेंट मेडिकल कॉलेज, भावनगर** में MBBS शुरू हुआ। पढ़ाई कठिन थी। ऑपरेशन थिएटर में स्टूल पर खड़े होकर काम करना पड़ता। प्रोफेसर मदद करते, दोस्त कंधा देते। लेकिन गणेश कभी शिकायत नहीं करता।

2024 में MBBS पूरा। इंटर्नशिप। और फिर... 26 नवंबर 2025 को सरकारी आदेश आया **डॉ. गणेश बरैया** को **सर तख्तासिंह जी जनरल हॉस्पिटल, भावनगर** में **मेडिकल ऑफिसर** के पद पर नियुक्ति।

आज 25 साल का डॉ. गणेश व्हाइट कोट पहने, स्टेथोस्कोप गले में टाँगे, छोटे-छोटे कदमों से वार्ड में घूमता है। मरीज उसे देखकर पहले हैरान होते हैं, फिर मुस्कुराते हैं। वह कहता है, "भगवान ने मुझसे कद लिया, लेकिन हौसला और दिमाग दिया। मैं उसी से गरीबों का इलाज करूँगा। जहाँ सबसे ज्यादा जरूरत है, वहीं जाऊँगा।"

जब वह हॉस्पिटल के गलियारे में चलता है, तो लोग सिर्फ एक छोटे कद के डॉक्टर को नहीं देखते... वे एक **बड़े इरादे** को देखते हैं।

क्योंकि सच में **कद छोटा हो सकता है, लेकिन सपने और हिम्मत बहुत बड़ी होती है।**
डॉ. गणेश बरैया एक जीती-जागती मिसाल। 🇮🇳
