@DocShivSharma@DrNeenaJha Trying to provide a 1st world healthcare system with 3rd world funding whilst spending money on consultancy agencies to drive efficiency isn’t a solution.
@doctor_oxford@wesstreeting@Keir_Starmer The sad fact is the dead don’t vote. That’s the likely reason palliative care is underfunded. But it will touch everyone’s lives.
@DrNeenaJha History taking is an algorithm where the answers given stimulate different questions. Not a tick box list which presents a jumble of information without relevance.
@jwblackwell@DrNeenaJha We had at least 5 management consultancy firms come to tell us how to be more efficient. My favourite was Toyota lean team that came as they were having a massive recall on their cars for faults. This represents the biggest waste of taxpayers money to the private sector.
@DrNeenaJha It’s like the whole triage system in the NHS. Originally triage was designed to be performed by the most experienced individual now it’s by the least experienced. If medicine was easy we wouldn’t need to spend decades learning it.
@steveduckett Sadly a true reflection. In 2007 when I started work as a consultant I identified lack of trauma theatre provision. I audited the need and provided a business case for it. They all supported its implementation. When I left a decade later we still had no Sunday trauma list
@midcheshortho@goldstone_tony I don’t think I know of any doctor who has ever retired properly, not just left the pension and returned, deciding to return to the NHS.
Seeing those that have retired properly. They look younger and enjoy life more. This is a sad indicative of what working in the NHS does.
@DrNeenaJha Where you based? I am an orthopaedic surgeon in the North West current wait time 2-3 months for joint replacement. It’s often where they have been referred that’s the problem as waiting times aren’t published.
