@karag They claim the high rate is because they need to meet all the federal regulatory and reporting requirements. Maybe it would help to streamline those. Not the total answer but might help. The research-related offices at U-M are a complicated maze. No pun intended.

@DrDebraSoh In my town most bars and restaurants turn the women’s into neutral and leave the men’s labeled men’s. No women’s only. When I ask why they all say it’s because the women’s bathrooms are nicer and/or have doors in the stalls.

The reason these disciplines continue to dominate campus life: they have an oversized presence in the mandatory GenEd curriculum.
