Orthopaedics is carpentry that went to medical school.
Those hammers are not a glitch in the video. Bone does not care about your gentle energy.
Sometimes you need to cut it, drill it, hammer it and fix it until the implant sits exactly where it needs to sit.
The engineers of medicine.
Everyone else leaves their tools in theatre. These ones could hang theirs in a garage and nobody would ask questions.😂
He really completed an entire cancer journey as a side quest 😭
But this is actually why prostate cancer can be so sneaky. A lot of prostate cancers arise in the peripheral zone, away from the urethra.
So the tumour can grow without initially obstructing urine flow or causing noticeable symptoms.
The cancer can literally be there while everything still feels normal.
@CarynLeigh58761 It really is.
And that’s the frustrating part , poor sleep can make the things that help sleep harder to do .
You’re tired, stressed , hungrier, less motivated to exercise , and suddenly your whole routine is out of sync.
Sleep problems can become a vicious cycle.
Poor sleep doesn’t only make you tired the next day.
It can also alter appetite regulation, increase cravings for energy-dense foods and make weight control harder.
Then people blame themselves for “lacking discipline”.
Sometimes the first nutrition intervention is not another supplement.
It’s fixing the sleep problem that keeps driving the hunger.
😂Tight shoes can make ankles look swollen.
But edema isn’t automatically kidney failure , heart failure or liver disease. There are plenty of other causes , including venous insufficiency, medications and simply local pressure
Let’s not diagnose a man from his footwear.😭

A late-stage trial lowered lipoprotein(a) but did not reduce heart attacks, strokes or cardiovascular death.
That is a sharp clinical lesson: changing a biomarker is not the same as improving patient outcomes.

This is the part people often miss in medicine:
a biomarker can improve without the patient actually having fewer heart attacks or strokes.
Lowering the number is encouraging.
Proving that it changes outcomes is the real test. #Medicine#health

Yeah , I can understand why you’d make that connection, especially if her symptoms improved after stopping.
But ongoing difficulty with stairs deserves a proper assessment rather than assuming the statin is definitely the cause .
Either way, I wouldn’t dimiss what she exprienced.
When you’re constantly switching between TikTok, X, messages, music and notifications, your brain keeps getting tiny bursts of novelty.
Then you try to sit quietly for 10 minutes and suddenly:
“WHY IS THIS SO UNCOMFORTABLE?”
Nothing is wrong with your brain.
It’s just accustomed to stimulation.
Boredom can actually give your attention a chance to settle without another new thing demanding it.
So sometimes the most useful thing you can do for your attention isn’t another productivity hack.
It’s letting your brain be bored.

@CovidC76105@drjasonfung Yeah, years is a long time to be dealing with that .
If the symptoms started after statin and settled when she stopped , i can understand why she’d frustrated.
Severe persistent symptoms deserved proper assessment.
That sounds like a genuine awful experience, and statin associated muscle symptoms are a real thing.
But that kind of pain shouldn’t just be brushed off.
The muscle loss and ongoing difficulty with stairs are particularly worth investigating.
You can believe in statins and still take their side effects seriously.
Six bypasses is obviously a serious cardiovascular history , but the vaccine claim is a separate issue from whether a statin was appropriate.
And honestly , having a family history of dementia isn’t , by itself a reason to avoid statins. The evidence doesn’t support that statin simply “ damage your Brain “
I’d be much interested in why your cardiologist thought you needed one and what your actual risk profile looked like .
@AuTacoWhisperer@drjasonfung It tells us that this particular screening strategy didnt significantly improve those outcomes over the follow- up period.
Those are two different questions .
😭 The ultrasound said “ nothing abnormal here “ and apparently that translates to “ good luck with that “
But seriously , a normal ultrasound doesn’t rule out every cause of severe period pain .
Conditions like : endometriosis, adenomyosis and some pelvic pain disorders can be much harder to identify.
“Nothing showed up ” and “nothing is wrong “ are not the same sentence.
Honestly, same. 😂
Imagine having someone whose entire job is basically:
“Here’s what you need to fix . Here’s what you need to ignore . Here’s what you’re wasting your money on. ”
Because half the battle with “optimising your health ” is figuring out which advice is actually worth listening to.

Recent reporting is putting loneliness back into the public-health conversation, with links to depression, cardiovascular disease, cognitive decline and altered stress/inflammatory biology. The key distinction is that solitude and loneliness are not the same thing. #health

Honestly, stop making breakfast protein complicated.😂
Just have eggs , Greek yoghurt, Milk , Cottage cheese , Tuna , Beans. Pick one you actually like
Add some fruit or whole grains , and move on with your day .
Breakfast doesn’t need to look like a bodybuilding meal prep video to have enough protein 😭
That’s probably part of the story , but I wouldn’t dismiss the light exposure itself just yet .
The interesting bit is that researchers found the association even after accounting for sleep related factors , and they also saw measurable changes in cardiac structure and function .
So it may be : light leads to disrupted circadian biology ,which contributes to poorer sleep and eventually cardiovascular effects .
… but there could be effects from light exposure itself.
@CoachDanGo I actually agree that skipping breakfast isn’t some special weight loss weight loss hack . 😂
But , you don’t need to eat within 1-2 hours of waking to control appetite or build muscle.
The bigger picture is what you eat across the entire day.👀

Your bedroom light may be doing more than disrupting sleep.
A new study of 11,000+ adults linked greater nighttime light exposure with changes in the heart’s structure and function years later , including a thicker left-ventricular wall and reduced cardiac performance.
This is observational, so it does not prove that light directly causes heart disease.
But it adds a plausible biological link to earlier studies associating bright nights with cardiovascular risk.
Blackout curtains may be more than a sleep upgrade. #Health
