Soo... today I read something from the @WHO that I guess I hadn’t considered... Vaccine Equity as it relates to vaccinating low risk individuals in wealthy countries while high risk individuals remain unvaccinated in resource poor countries... 😕

1) community spread is not higher now than a year ago
2) fully vaxxed folks have low chance of spreading - part of the 3-pronged benefit of vaccination (low infection, hospitalization and transmission rates)

@Datanerdkim @ashishkjha @MelanieLybarger So in this scenario the only time when masking can stop is with 100% vaccination. That is not scientifically sound or realistic. Risk of fully vaxxed folks getting/spreading the virus is very low. In 4 wks increase in vaxxed folks won’t change things enough to change outcome.
