@northwoods1980 ED do not dictate the protocol, they call radiologist who protocols it after discussing case. Radiographers can also follow agreed imaging protocols based on mechanism and ED request.

Paying staff in the NHS fairly doesn't remove funding for patient care. *Unless politicians decide it will be that way*. It's a national health service, it must be funded by the nation, not subsidised with the stolen wages of the staff.
@RCRadiologists 29 new breast screening units will also need appropriately trained Mammographers, radiologists, nurses etc... Where are they all going to come from given the shortages we are already experiencing?
We welcome funding for breast screening as early diagnosis of cancer is so important. But workforce shortages are the biggest factor limiting diagnosis.
We need to see a fully funded workforce plan soon, including how to increase and retain the cancer workforce.
Slightly disappointing to see @DrSarahClarke denouncing spending on locum doctors on @BBCNews. Not only that but supporting PAs as an alternative to more doctors.
The answer is to pay us more to retain staff, increase med student numbers, as well as NTNs for ST training.
@pjenkins200 Depends on indication. If it says 'confused', 'poor historian' (terrible term) then letting ED maybe it's because they can't hear you could save a lot of trouble! I see many have already said this as I was typing...
