Just finished Teach Like a Pirate by @burgessdave , if you are in education, I HIGHLY encourage you to read this!!! So much good information to teach by!
@burgessdave 1) I just noticed you follow me too...faint! 2) Your Teach Like a Pirate book was an amazing addition to my #eled360 class this semester! I learned so much! @drnashscience@DSUteach
Here is something that I made in my social science class. It's all about proven practice #1. Here is the link to my Nearpod about it: https://t.co/xttPREV6CK #eled360@drnashscience@DSUteach
This is a great activity to keep students engaged and motivated within the lesson. Gallery walks involve students rotating around the room or building watching by videos, reading short stories and etc. #eled360@drnashscience@DSUteach
If you're wanting to learn more about how to teach the 6 proven practices of civic learning, check out this nearpod I put together to help you! @drnashscience@DSUteach#eled360

Shout out to @burgessdave !!
We read his book, Teach Like a Pirate, in my social science class this semester, and it was great! This book has a ton of great teaching tips for teachers and ideas to make a classroom more interactive. BE A SWIMMER! @drnashscience#eled360
This article talks about how teachers can have fun in their social studies classrooms, even when SS isn't their favorite subject! I especially like the choice board activity. Teach your passions. #eled360@drnashscience@DSUteach

When given more time & less constraints, Ss began creating more detailed items for their campgrounds beyond the listed features in the challenge. Choice is powerful and often leads to higher engagement & learning outcomes. They made coolers!! #Camp100#3rdgrade#100thdayofschool
“I’m giving up control for those who need to be in control.” I really resonated with this quote from our Nearpod lesson from @drnashscience this week in CET 723. Gaining tips on UDL is going to be very beneficial for my future classroom!
Are your students not engaged with the reading in your class?
I challenge you to follow these tips and use a reading playlist in your classroom - and see the change for yourself.

One of the sweetest #MilkenAward moments at Wyoming's Meadowlark Elem @JCSD1: seeing proud students wrap kindergarten teacher Jessica Kavitz in congratulatory hugs!

The word is out! Thanks to everyone who has helped make "The Shift to Student-Led" a best seller on its first day!
You may not have a student-driven classroom yet, but know that it is possible!

This semester I read the book Teach Like a Pirate by Dave Burgess. It was such a great informational read and gave me different ideas on how to increase student engagement and boost my creativity as a future educator. Recommend all educators to read. #eled360@drnashscience
STEM family night was a success! It consisted of @makeymakey, @Ozobot bowling 🎳, a marble/cup STEM challenge, @MicrosoftFlip videos, STEM straws, hop scotch coding, and an engineering snack kit!!
