This semester I read the book Teach Like a Pirate by Dave Burgess. It was such a great informational read and gave me different ideas on how to increase student engagement and boost my creativity as a future educator. Recommend all educators to read. #eled360@drnashscience
Math manipulatives are great for students! I like this example here of having a manipulative when it come to fractionsโฆreally allows students to illustrate the math concept! #dsumath@kevinsmithsd
This is such a neat idea! I like it because it very private and a simple way to let students know how they are doing in regards to behavior, following directions ext..Also it motivates students to do things right in the classroom! #dsumath@kevinsmithsd
*Classroom management tip*
We all have that one student who struggles with following directions. Private, effective, motivating. Give it a try! #physed
Math talk is a great way that we can have students develop a deeper understanding through communication! Great to see quotes like this from educators and the impact it has on their students! #dsumath@kevinsmithsd
I couldn't agree more with this! Like the idea getting students working in teams early. Promotes collaboration, communication, listening and leadership. All essential skills students will need through their education and careers! @kevinsmithsd#dsumath
Loving the integration of Number of the Day in my 4th grade math class @TracyZager Students challenged themselves with decimals and multi-digit numbers. Patterns, vocabulary, order of operations.. so much rich math to discuss!
