Dr Celia Martin-Puertas, Laura Boyall & Dr Paul Lincoln from @Palaeo_Decadal talked about proxy-based palaeoclimate at the @metoffice yesterday. Discussing the use of their annual (palaeo) observations to validate models & hypothesis #RHULGeogResearch#RHULGeogPGR#ukriflf#rhul
From @stacey_halls, author of The Familiars, comes another slice of atmospheric historical fiction, as the residents of a house for fallen women collide with a millionairess in fear of her recently released stalker. Preorder a SIGNED copy of The Household: https://t.co/bPAqifC5r3
And that’s a wrap on our first week coring in southern Spain. Amazing week with great company and very nice looking sediments! Looking forward for the weekend for research meetings and more coring next week… #palaeolimnology#DECADAL
Want to know how UK climate has changed since records began for temperature, rainfall, extremes, and how these changes have influenced the natural world?
The latest State of the Climate report from @metoffice has it covered: https://t.co/aRF0R0c5Wk
The next set of talks at @InquaRoma2023 from our DECADAL team were from PhD student @Lauraboyall1 talking about Bayesian decadal climate reconstructions, and PDRA @ashleymabrook presenting preliminary chiro and biomarker data from two varved lake sites. Well done! #INQUARoma2023
Great to have the opportunity to present some of my PhD work on transforming geochemical data to quantitative climate reconstructions using a Bayesian framework. First international conference ✔️ #INQUARoma2023
Great first day at @InquaRoma2023. Our DECADAL team have shared some of our work! Our PDRA @DrPLincoln showed the differences in age modelling techniques, and @CMartinPuertas has been showcasing her new illustrated children’s book, and introduced our policy co-production approach
Really enjoyed Reading’s #ClimateFestival. Great to see how @UniofReading and @ReadingCouncil are working together to communicate important messages on climate change to the public.

Introducing the DECADAL project funded by @UKRI_News#UKRIFLF with the central aims of
(1) understanding natural climate variability, past and future (2) integrating research evidence into policy and climate services.
The DECADAL team combines multidisciplinary researchers (proxy-based and modellers) working on high temporal resolution palaeoclimate in the North Atlantic region. Meet the members of our team below...
Come and join our DECADAL team! We have an 18-month position available for a research assistant in Tephrochronology as part of @UKRI_News#UKRIFLF Rethinking Palaeoclimatology for Society. https://t.co/DCnUwayywh get in touch for any more details 🔬🥼
Last night we attended a parliamentary and scientific committee meeting where they discussed the current state of energy in the UK, and future energy security. It was really interesting to see how research can be used in parliament, and listen to the opinions of different experts
