Was compelled to write this article on my tech blog; after seeing RTL implemented badly, and being called for to clean-up the mess so many times, coupled with decision makers lacking the appreciation for the difference between software & RTL.

@RySpectra @brentvoltz @cushyChicken I prefer Xilinx as I have used their FPGAs extensively.
All you require to begin is the Vivado IDE. Then learn to implement digital logic circuits using one of the HDLs, simulate & test it in the Vivado simulator. HDL is not a prog. lang. but it describes a digital logic circuit

@RySpectra @brentvoltz @cushyChicken FPGA design fundamentally is a digital logic circuit design, it is hardware not software. There are many ways and languages for design entry. Fundamental FPGA deisgn is done at RTL in Verilog, VHDL or SystemVerilog HDLs. One does not need a board to learn RTL to begin with.

@pranavmistry I do not believe a completely objective answer is possible.

If you do get an answer from a human, it will be, as percieved and defined by the human in human terms.

Moreover, intelligence is contextual.

@pranavmistry Up until 6th line, going from the top to bottom, it is just a sinewave of increasing fequency so it will sound like just a whistle, after that it starts to modulate so not sure without reproducing it in audio.
