It's not whether carbohydrate restriction is a panacea (it's not) – it is whether it gets much too little consideration for those it can help specifically (it is).
I try to stay out of other controversies than the enormous one I'm tackling with our research. But if you look through my past tweets on #MentalHealth, you can why this work is so important to me.
Poor metabolic health on our bodies is something we can see much easier than poor metabolic health in our brains.
The mental health field sometimes uses circular logic.
If people are diagnosed with schizophrenia, but then get completely better, some will say they didn't have schizophrenia to begin with.
This can rob those with "schizophrenia" of hope.
Metabolic disorders can get better.
