@BBCr4today I can't find anywhere online what your general schedule is. I listen on catch up and enjoy the start of the programme up to the business news, but I'd like to skip on to the second round of business news but sometimes have trouble finding it?
@gwybod@BBCRadio4 That wasn't my point. He seemed to suggest if he had to pay £500 mortgage and then pay another £100 as tax on top. @BBCRadio4 can you confirm that to be correct?
@BBCRadio4 listening to "you and yours" and I didn't understand the landlord's explanation of tax on mortgages. My understanding was that you no longer got to claim your mortgage payments against your rental income. He seemed to be suggesting you he had to pay 20% tax on top??
@SciAnsell@jjsanderson I only have one question.... Who has a digital vernier caliper to sell second hand? What has happened to make them decide they have too many?
Although I might have to get myself a set and there still seems to be a good supply of second hand one on eBay in fair condition
@SciAnsell@jjsanderson Just out of interest do you have any particular brands? I mainly have the clarke ones bought back in the days of the Machinemart "vat free" offer days. Then a couple no name eBay buys.
@BarclaysUKHelp Yes I understand that, my point is I don't get 5.12% Annual Equivalent rate on a balance of £5000, I only get a 5.0054% Annual Equivalent rate due to the banding. Your advert says "5.12% AER on balances up to £5,000" which isn't correct.
@Barclays@MartinSLewis think I noticed that you are misadvertised your Rainy Day savers account. In the intrest rate box you state "5.12% AER on balances up to £5000" however you give an example below showing a value after a year on a balances of £5000 as £5250.27,
That is clearly not 5.12% after a year. This is because you only pay 0.25% on balances over £5,000, so as soon as the intrest takes you over £5,000 your only getting slight more than 5% AER but still less that 5.12%
@ljardinewright I've been doing some building work to my new house. My understanding of physics that helps me know what's important to get right. Like if you're drilling a hole in a wooden beam there are regulations about where and how big you can make it so you are not compromising the strength
@Anna_D12@PhysicsKeith Would you have a problem with what I heard on the Cambridge station platform on the way home "oh my, it's going to be over 100 today!"
I assume I don't have to explain the slight American accent that went with that.
