This is so weak from @bbcnickrobinson - it’s not the gotcha he is desperate for
Resident doctors have had appalling pay erosion since 2008
They should have full pay restoration at the very least
One chancellor was so busy he forgot to declare the purchase of seven luxury apartments.
Jeremy Hunt forgot to declare 7 luxury flats but remembered to bill taxpayers 27p for half mile car journey
Nobody resigned. https://t.co/1vVL1K35tG
It’s not just a scandal, but a national tragedy - predictable, preventable & solvable. Doctors don’t need plans - they need jobs & training NOW! Massive shortage of doctors & large number ready to train. Not rocket science, join the dots & see the big picture.
NHS England don't get it, we have a national health service, it should not be funded by holding back already eroded staff pay. It must be funded by all 69 million via taxes not staff pay packets. This is ludicrous moral blackmail.
My perspective on AAs; a 🧵
I was an ANP before medical school and am now a specialty doctor in anaesthetics.
I work with 2 qualified AAs who are excellent,
I am often asked for my opinion given my background, so here it is a long thread including my own story.
'Where we need a doctor, fund a doctor' @DrPhilBanfield spoke up for GPs in his opening speech at #ARM2024

🚨NEWS RELEASE 🚨
📰👀🏴🩺

“Just over half of 18,000 doctors surveyed by the British Medical Association (BMA) said working alongside those staff increased what they had to do rather than freeing up their time.”
What a stupid stupid idea this whole scheme has been. Just imagine if this wasted time, effort & funding had been invested into proper medical training.

MP's salary to rise by 7.1%, from £86,584 to £92,731, that’s before expenses! Inflation now at 3.9%, so why do MPs get an above inflation pay rise but public sector workers don’t?
