We will see #oil pass $100/bbl, but eventually it will settle back as technology always eventually cures high prices. But stay long or get long in oil stocks, such as $GUSH, $GTE, $NRGU and $NOG. If oil stays above $100 for 3 months and then falls below $100, it's time to sell
Some of this #oil has been coming back in the last 24 hours but this is going to further exhaust falling #oil inventories. Again, barring a major Covid induced slow down, there is going to be a large spike in oil prices. Producers still being ignored
OIL MARKET: Very little recovery in Gulf of Mexico oil output, still down ~1.7m b/d. Cumulative loss since Aug 27 is now ~13m barrels. And LOOP remains closed (very rare to see it down so long). On refining, ~1.6m b/d is still closed, with XOM Baton Rouge re-starting #OOTT
OPEC meeting over, countries are showing good compliance and over compliance. As long as Covid doesn't slow movement drastically, large supply deficits in #oil are coming. Producers are getting no respect
The US implied oil demand hit an all-time high on weekly basis. On a 4-week average basis, we are still improving despite rising COVID case counts.
#OOTT
While total US demand recovered in June to within 0.5% of pre-covid levels, crude production remains much lower. According to the @EIAgov, crude output in June declined month-on-month from May, at 11.3m b/d (-7.1% below June 19). Total oil liquids was virtually flat m-on-m. #OOTT
Gasoline demand improved and EIA numbers better than API numbers on #oil and gasoline inventories- still in short term Covid is biggest threat. Oil is on a path to large deficits.
#Oil (and gasoline) inventories are still going down (though more slowly), and barring Covid really slowing things down, inventories will eventually be in a large deficit. Let's see what EIA report says tomorrow
The only thing holding #oil markets back is the new CV-19 threat. OPEC showing discipline and once #oil markets are heading to a sever deficit barring serious shutdowns
If the US withdrawal from Afghanistan was NOT coordinated with Iran, Taliban is taking over the country, & Afghanistan’s military is taking its American-made armament to Iran, why would Iran accept a nuclear deal?
Now, rethink Biden’s National Security Advisor request from OPEC!
Earnings are about to start and will help oil stocks. Expect upcoming announcements mergers, acquisitions, and share buy backs in the face of a disinterested market. I still see #oil spiking to $100 this year in the face of some kind of disruption and supply outstripping demand
Oil stocks near a 10 year low versus the oil strip while net speculative length has fallen to the lowest level since December 2020…not the worst setup heading into what will be a barrage of record free cashflow earnings releases.
OIL MARKET: U.S. commercial **crude** stockpiles are now back to pre-pandemic levels (lowest since January 2020). On a 4-week average, U.S. crude oil stocks (commercial and SPR) are falling at a ~1.2m b/d, which is the fastest, largest rate in 40 years of data | #OOTT
EIA reporting another huge draw in #oil and #gasoline. The last 6 weeks of draws are unprecedented. OPEC+ appears to have pretty much resolved differences with UAE, which has been what has been harming oil prices. Super spike in oil is coming. $GUSH & $NRGU will rebound soon
If you think the bull market in #oil and $GUSH is over, then you haven;t been watching these historic monthly draws. #OPEC is going to resolve its issues and $100 oil is coming
The top oil analysts believe historic #oil draws will continue and even accelerate over the next few weeks. Unless OPEC surprises the market at their meeting today, we are likely to see $85 #oil this summer, even without disruptions. Buy $GUSH and $NRGU
OIL MARKET: Incredible price movements in WTI calendar spreads, with Sep-Oct briefly rising to 141 cents per barrel. Oct-Nov is at 100 cents. WTI appears to be pricing a massive crude oil stock draw in Cushing (and the rest of the US) in the next few weeks | #OOTT
OIL MARKET: The U.S. continues to draw crude stocks at an astonishing rate. Over the last 4 weeks, total crude inventories (including SPR) have fallen at a rate of nearly 1.2m b/d, that's the largest 4-week stock drawn on rolling data going back almost 40 years!!!! #OOTT
If EIA report @ 1030 Wed confirms, then supply is falling like I can't remember. Any serious disruption, and there will be one before you know it (they occur every few months and we're due), is going to cause a short term spike in #oil
Although serious #oil disruptions occur every 2-3 months (hurricanes, wars, contamination, strikes, etc) they usually go unnoticed because supply and demand are balanced. But when inventories are falling this fast (demand outpacing supply), disruptions cause brief spikes
