Is this a joke? The US is going to build trains in Lima, Peru when trains in the US barely function? When China has 30,000 miles of high speed rail and we have none?
COVID minimizers (the majority of ppl) will be in disbelief there is another pandemic already because they don't believe repeatedly catching COVID damages the immune system making them and the entire planet more vulnerable to future pandemics.
This is a fundamental misunderstanding of why the public health emergency ended. It wasnât because COVID was no longer a problem, it was because the government didnât want to continue paying for services that actually supported people
People are surprised at the amount of pneumonia about. Donât see how, itâs been 5 years of pandemic and 3 years of constant illness with a virus they swore we wouldnât keep catching. Im surprised that people are surprised, powers of cognitive dissonance vastly better than my own
Hi everybody!
Lots of debate over synonyms for âAirborneâ
âAerosol transmissionâ
âPuff cloudâ
âShort-range semi-ballistic trajectory"
I mean, ok, I guess words matter. But shouldnât you be finding ways to stop me (*ahem*đ·) instead of arguing pointlessly over the obvious? #H5N1
The question must be asked and answered: WHO IS DRIVING THIS DECISION, AND WHY??
There's not a single real scientist in the CDC who can back this up with good data, but they're still ramming it through. WHY??
If your doctor isnât asking about these, youâre not getting healthcareâyouâre getting disease management.
This sign should be outside of every medical office.
Can you image if Biden & Harris came out and said this?
(the truth)
Statement from President Biden and Vice President Harris:
We acknowledge that weâve made a series of grave mistakes, and we recognize that this message may not reach all those who have lost faith in us. Nevertheless, we feel it is our duty to speak candidly to the American people before the next administration takes office.
Our administration made the decision to step back on COVID-19 mitigations because it was becoming politically unpopular. We believed that if we continued to push for masks, improved ventilation, and vaccination campaigns, we risked losing public support and, potentially, the election. In retrospect, we see that this was not only a political miscalculation but also a failure to prioritize the health and safety of the American people. This is a decision we deeply regret.
The truth is this: the COVID-19 pandemic has not ended. We are still facing a dangerous and evolving SARS-CoV-2 virus, which continues to circulate, adapt, and inflict long-term damage on the population. Whatâs worse, the emergence of avian influenza strains that have the capacity to spread among humans and even pets poses an imminent threat. Without prompt action, the consequences could be catastrophic.
The reality is that SARS-CoV-2 is not âjust another cold.â The virus has profound effects on the human body, especially the brain. We now have compelling evidence that SARS-CoV-2 can cause:
- Neurological and cognitive damage: The virus is linked to conditions like POTS, dysautonomia, and mitochondrial dysfunction, leading to exercise intolerance, chronic fatigue, and, in many cases, long-term disability.
- Synctial formations and micro-clots: These formations can disrupt blood flow, leading to strokes, heart damage, and other severe complications.
- Cardiac issues: COVID-19 can damage the heart muscle and increase the risk of heart attacks, myocarditis, and sudden cardiac events.
- Metabolic disturbances: There is a rising incidence of diabetes diagnoses post-infection, even in otherwise healthy individuals.
- Immune system exhaustion: SARS-CoV-2 weakens immune defenses, leaving people more susceptible to reinfections, secondary infections, and even dormant viruses reactivating.
These are not theoretical risks. They are happening now, and they are causing long-term disabilities and deaths that could have been prevented.
We must also confront the harsh reality that airborne pathogens, like avian flu and SARS-CoV-2, require more than just vaccines. Without implementing higher standards for indoor air qualityâthrough improved ventilation, air purification, and the use of high-performance masks (such as N95 respirators)âwe are vulnerable. States like California and Connecticut are leading the way in upgrading indoor air standards, but this needs to be a national effort.
We understand that our credibility may be compromised, but the science is clear: we must protect ourselves, our children, and our communities. The longer we ignore these realities, the greater the costâboth in lives and in trust.
We urge every American to take personal measures to protect themselves: invest in respirators, get the latest vaccines, and demand better air quality in your schools, workplaces, and public spaces. We may have faltered, but it is not too late to change course. Together, we can prepare for the challenges ahead and protect the health of our nation.
'The scale of the problem that Covid is posing for individuals and society appears to be on a par with climate change: too big to tackle, so we look away. Or make light of it'.

Jamaal Bowman tells me he offered to go to Michigan for the Kamala Harris campaign to rally support for Democrats since heâs popular there.
The Harris campaign ignored him and instead sent Ritchie Torres, Liz Cheney and then Bill Clinton to scold Arab Americans.
Pretty incredible details here âŹïž
My cleaner popped in today after her latest bout of covid, her fifth or six infection
She was unable to work for about two weeks
With each infection her recovery takes longer, and today while she was here she had such a bad cough which she kept apologising for
She has to be late 20s or early 30s and I'm literally watching her health deteriorate over the months and years
If this is happening to her - a once very healthy person who exercised a lot and cycles a lot - it must be happening to others in society
She's a nice lady with a family, and I wonder, how sustainable is this level of repeat sickness in the long run?
What's the impact on public health?
How many people will end up long term sick unable to work?
What will be the burden on our health system, on our benefits system?
Are we as society really ok with watching the 5-10% in our society become unwell, deteriorate, and become economically inactive?
It's so easy to switch off, carry on as normal, pretend this isn't happening to people
It just makes me feel sad for the way we are mismanaging covid when we have enough knowledge to do things in a better way
