@SiennaRose_1813 I’m happy for you that you’re excited about the move! And Ann Arbor is beautiful. I just felt trapped and that I didn’t have much of a choice. And I wasn’t given the option of staying and completing my thesis work in a different lab. That’s just my personal experience though!

@SiennaRose_1813 Yes, a big one was moving from a university to a non-academic research institute. I lost having a network of graduate students to support me. And moving from a liberal city to a small town in a red state. I lost having a queer community.
