NITI Aayog organised a National Workshop on Teacher Education under its State Support Mission on 26 March, 2025 in New Delhi.

Dr. V. K. Paul, Member, NITI Aayog deliberated on the importance of character and values in education. Also, Shri Sanjay Kumar, Secretary (School Education), Ministry of Education, highlighted the need to develop all District Institute of Education and Training (DIETs) and SCERTs as centres of excellence to enhance teacher training and content quality, ensuring alignment with NCERT, under the National Education Policy 2020.

The workshop brought together State/UT Governments, Ministry of Education, NCERT, NCTE, SCERTs, Policymakers, Education Leaders, NGOs, Civil Society Organisations, District Institute of Education and Training (DIETs), and teachers from all over the country to deliberate over challenges and reforms in teacher education, enhancing quality standards in Pre-Service Teacher Education and strengthening governance and regulatory framework for Teacher Education.

A fruitful discussion was held on combat readiness and areas of collaboration to enhance combat medical support.
