All the Google Meet selfies being posted w/students photos & names displayed is making me super nervous. It’s not good digital citizenship, nor is it safe.
I know they’re meaningful y’all… but let’s protect them in the digital realm like we would in the classroom! #digcit
(PS) A big “Thank You!” to those that share resources and keep them open after the conference is over! It is lovely to be able to go back and revisit the conversations we shared in preparation of our next steps and the upcoming year. A few were already gone (or never posted)🤷♂️.
Confession (a🧵 1/2): I didn’t tweet from sessions at #ALAAC22 & #ISTELive this past week…a conscious choice to stay in the moment w/ the presenters and my fellow attendees. It was refreshing to just listen, learn and not be constantly searching for a “sound-byte” or “quotable”
(2/2) In the next few weeks, I have set aside time to systematically “unpack” the many resources, presentations, & ideas that were shared at these gatherings. I will do my best to tag/share/ruminate upon that which I found interesting/meaningful. Stay tuned as I break it down 👍🏻
Aaahhhh! Congratulations to @mrslamon and the entire @WoodlandForrest crew on winning FIRST PLACE in the Governor's App Challenge (Elementary Level) at the @AlabamaAchieves Computer Science Education Summit today!! #TCSLearns@TCSBoardofEd
I wish that @sec could let the audio engineers for the #SECGym event at the @BJCC know the volume of the atmospheric music and event announcer is far FAR too loud for those who are in the audience. Maybe turn it down a bit? #please
I’m gonna call this now…somewhere an influencer is creating and scheduling New Years content that will include music and/or lyrics from Taylor Swift’s “22”
“I don't know about you
But I'm feeling 22
Everything will be alright if
You keep me next to you”
#feeling22#feeling2022
Listen ⬆️ #AASL21…you showed up and showed out at our #digcit session yesterday! 📣HUGE shoutout to @gtidwell1 for being a fabulous presenter and collaborative partner! Main takeaway: Culture changes because of responsiveness, not reactiveness! Resources: https://t.co/XUa8w4EYRq
@sarajchurchill@gtidwell1 Not only does it promote Ss use of digital tools in the classroom(trust & believe they Google at home), it allows time for conversations around the validity of sources, curation of resources, and reinforcing the idea of “informed” digging and branching to explore unknownS #AASL21
Are you a lifelong learner? Can you break down the differences between racism, systemic racism, and racist ideas? “Do the work. You don’t have the luxury of being ignorant” 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 @omekongo#AASL21
“I don’t care what you think about anything. I care HOW you think.” “You have to be active and proactive about how you consume information.” @omekongo#aasl21
“AASL? That stands for Activists, Advocates, and School Leaders…” @omekongo just managed to describe school librarians as the Transformers they are! #AASL21 I’m privileged to get to work with some amazing activists, advocates, and school leaders in our libraries @TCSBoardofEd!
Representatives of @ASLAlib presenting her majesty @AASLpresident@JennisenL with some finery from @AlabamaGoods during my favorite #AASL21 conference moments… “THE PARADE OF AFFILIATES” (read that with some ‘echoing stadium voice and it will harness the energy of the room)!
We are happy to have you up on that #AASL21 stage @Lessa4Libraries! Thank you for visiting us this weekend and sharing a message from @ALALibrary that speaks to the strength of school libraries and their librarians!
Alright! Here we go #AASL21! Looking forward to a quick author talk with @KathrynRLewis on the Engage shared foundation in the #AASL standards and how we can move past school walls and help develop a global network of learning.
