Solidarity with our medical brothers and sisters, sons and daughters, over the next 5 days. I really admire the courage and commitment of the current generation of resident doctors and their struggle for better conditions and a sustainable future for the NHS.
@ProfRobHoward Would like the Trust to outline clearly and be prepared to defend what being as safe as our funding allows looks like, because the lack of resources to provide safe care has a lot of front line staff feeling very anxious.
It’s going to be very difficult to turn this back. And it will get harder the longer we delay. We urgently need to review and discuss what is happening with these troubling posts and the implications for patient safety and professional training.

In many Emergency Departments:
Undifferentiated patients walk in
ACP/ANP/PA assesses, investigates, treats, and send them home without consulting any doctor.
This is exactly what a doctor does in medical practice.
I'm standing for RCPsych President in next March's election. I'm still speaking and listening to friends and colleagues, but you can learn about me and what I would want to do if successful in the election here: https://t.co/ds4eCcZTal
NHS staff and doctors in particular have been subsidising the NHS with real terms pay cuts since 2010 @edballs@susannareid100@GMB@wesstreeting ended last years strikes saying he would move towards pay restoration and the current pay offer doesn’t do that
@AndresMartinez1 As Emily said practice and being familiar with the stations is key.
I like the Maudsley book + this course is great https://t.co/wuKoKz09Hf
Actually, thinking about it, the entire nation should be ashamed for making the very same doctors and nurses who risked their lives to try and save their fellow citizens’ from Covid beg and strike without pay just to get their pay in line with inflation! It’s a f’ing joke!
@drjanaway - Don’t forget what a miserable slog training is!
- Ensure the CTs have the 3 non clinical sessions in the week for the curriculum activities
- Remember it isn’t only resident doctors within the MDT who have typing skills for notes
According to my calculations, F1 starting salary under this offer would be £36,734
With recent AfC uplift, PA starting salary will be £46,147
Under no circumstances should an associate/assistant be paid more than a doctor
No other profession would accept such humiliation

@DrEilidhMaria People also tend to not factor in that due to the length of the medical degree people join the workforce later than other graduates and have missed out on a few years of salary/ progression.
