Kenyaβs longest-running and most faithfully enforced policy?
Protecting the political elite from accountability and the consequences of their own selfish decisions.
Everything else has remained negotiable

The Utumishi Girlsβ Academy is just a 5-minute drive to ASTU HQ . NYS Paramilitary Training School is 10 minutes away, Westcom Garrison is 10 minutes out and Fighting Barracks (5KR Gilgil) is just 15 minutes away.
In any functional emergency response system, these installations should operate as coordinated strategic assets during moments of crisis.
Yet recently, when we were attacked by goons and our cars vandalised in Thogoto, Kikuyu we rushed to Karen Police Station to report the incident. The officers told us the area was βnot under their jurisdictionβ as people were actively being assaulted and robbed nearby.
Kenya urgently needs to re-evaluate its emergency preparedness, inter-agency coordination, and the operational readiness of its security infrastructure. Citizens deserve timely protection, not bureaucracy during emergencies.

We equally want to see the Kenya government take robust measures to avoid cases of Ebola from entering Kenya. That includes declining the request by the US Government to set up an Ebola Treatment Centre in Kenya where Ebola patients from other countries will be flown in.
Since all Ebola patients deserve access to the highest standard of medical care, and we owe them human solidarity even as we protect the healthy population, public health dictates require that the medical treatment facility and treatment isolation protocols be set up near the common epicentre of the infection. That is either in Eastern Congo or Western Uganda.
"The number one priority of our foreign policy is to protect the American people. We can not and will not allow any cases of Ebola to enter the United States" ~ Marco Rubio, US Secretary of State
Government pathologist Johansen Oduor says he will continue practising both law and medicine after his admission to the Bar at Milimani Law Courts.
Oduor noted that his legal training has deepened his understanding of medico-legal matters and given him a more structured approach to decision-making in his work as a pathologist.
We normalised not paying self sponsored Residents, now theyβre coming for the interns too.
Interns and Residents better unite and save the profession!
Internship and Residency are National Government functions. We need a structured way of transitioning from internship to residency with no gap years and these should be fully compensated

This is completely unacceptable! @HonAdenDuale Interns are the backbone of service delivery in our public healthcare system, with many hospitals heavily relying on them to keep essential services running.
It is even concerning that some facilities are now forcing interns to take on the responsibilities of fully employed medical officers & pharmacists simply because they are unwilling to hire adequate staff.
Hello good people. @KelvinuhK is supposed to compete in China but canβt due to lack of funds. He says he needs at least 300K and Iβm sure we can get him there since this incompetent government has refused and heβs been winning gold for his country

I am currently conducting research as part of my MBA dissertation examining how physician engagement, work environment, and incentives influence alignment with organisational strategy within healthcare institutions.

We cannot allow AI to deny patients treatment. Claims and pre- authorizations must be reviewed by humans.
AI should never be the sole basis for denying, delaying, or downgrading medically necessary care.
SHA is relying too heavily on automated systems to reject or restrict patient care. Patients deserve accountability, transparency and human clinical judgment.
End of rant.

Kenyan researcher Professor George Njoroge wins Sh446 million award alongside UK scientist Professor Robert Bristow, for advancing early detection of oesophageal cancer.
I agree π―@KenyaMedics_KMA can help push for this too. For the first time my hospital has had to provide makeshift accommodation & meals for all HCWs and itβs a absurd that in all these years no one thought providing simple meals is a necessity while we spend several hours in the hospitals.
Todayβs crisis has exposed the reality of healthcare workers welfare in Kenya. Many HCWs have been forced to remain within hospitals for over 24 hours due to insecurity and transport disruptions with makeshift sleeping arrangements inside facilities. Most facilities donβt have Doctor Call rooms/ lounges
Perhaps it is time to rethink priorities. Affordable housing funds could help build safe staff housing within or near hospitals to protect essential healthcare workers and ensure continuity of care during emergencies.
