Jammu and Kashmir requires support from the central government to address the growing unemployment crisis, which has become a grave issue impacting every sphere of our society. According to media reports, the recently released Periodic Labour Force Survey by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation has identified J&K’s unemployment rate as the highest in the country, with a 32 percent unemployment rate among youth and 53.6 percent joblessness among females. These alarming figures clearly indicate J&K’s grim and worsening unemployment situation, demanding immediate action and effective solutions, including both short-term and long-term measures.

Allegations of severe torture have emerged from Kishtwar taking us back to the disturbing events that took place in Bafliaz Surankote earlier this year. Sajad Ahmad, Abdul Kabir, Mushtaq Ahmad, and Mehraj-ud-Din from Kuath village were summoned to the army camp for questioning where they were allegedly subjected to extreme physical torture. The victims, left severely injured and unable to walk had to be carried to the hospital.
Urge J&Ks UT government to take swift action against those involved to ensure accountability and to prevent such heinous human rights violations from recurring in future .

I have neither forgotten nor backtracked on the issue of Rationalisation of Reservation. Away from the X (Twitter) I have talked with HCM twice and multiple times with other colleagues about this issue. I am told that there is some confusion about the distribution of the rules of business on many issues between the elected government and the other undemocratically imposed office and this subject is one among them. I am assured that the government will take a decision to rationalise the policy soon.
While I respect the institution of the elected government and their right to make decisions. And I think it is fair and logical to give them some time to find a solution. I, at the same time, understand the urgency of the matter.
Therefore, I would request all of you to wait till I attend the Parliament session which starts from 25th Nov and concludes on 22nd Dec. If the decision is not taken till then, I will sit with all of you outside the residence or the office of the Chief Minister.
