Many many years ago, I learnt Hebrew out of curiosity, and in a bid to penetrate into a world that I once thought was evil and conspiring against Arabs and Muslims. Once in, I was surprised how wrong I was, how wrong almost every Arab and Muslim around me was.
These days, I watch Hebrew networks (and Arabic ones). There is a lot of Israeli pain over those who were killed on 10/7, agony of those who survived, and anxiety over those who are held hostage by Hamas. A lot of tears, now mixing with tears over fallen soldiers fighting in Gaza.
The thing about all this Israeli pain is that it is almost exclusively in Hebrew. The world does not see Israelis hurt, does not hear them cry. The world sees Israel as fighter jets raining death to punish those who killed them from 15000 feet above ground. The world only sees and hears pain coming from Gaza, and the world always takes the side of the underdog, even when the underdog is guilty. One billion Muslims certainly have a much louder voice than 20 million Jews, and the world will always blame Israel, even when Palestinians started the carnage.
And that's exactly why Israelis are fighting the fight of their lives. They understand that the world is an unfair place, and that they cannot rely on non-existent international justice or biased global opinion.
I wish I had a magic wand to make fellow Arabs, and the rest of the world, see what I see. There will never be peace without justice, and using our numbers (Muslims) to impose our narrative is one way to try to beat Israel, but not the way to peace. My voice will dissent. I want peace, and peace is incumbent on winning the trust of those we want to live in peace with, not keeping on instigating the world against them.

You know what's more puzzling than trying to assemble IKEA furniture? It's how some folks in the USA can overlook the #Hamas threat, thinking it's an issue for #Israel or the Middle East.

Watch and listen; Hamas leaders are busy making friends with North Korea and Russia, and they're not planning a tea party. They're talking about targeting the USA before Israel.

Hamas, playing TV host like it's a game show, boldly declares plans that make life spicy for Americans, Westerners, and even their fellow Arab pals. If you're watching this and still thinking they're just sharing secret recipes, well, you're as optimistic as a person who sees a bear in their kitchen but insists it's just a large, furry chef!

My dad, who is a moderate Muslim, finally expressed his concern and asked me, 'Why are you supporting this genocide?'

He mentioned that he's stopped looking at his phone because he can no longer bear to watch videos of Palestinian children being bombed by Israel.

I replied, 'I empathize with the suffering, and it's not easy for me either.'

Then I showed him a photo, and we both agreed on the gravity of the situation in Palestine.

I then informed him that the photo was actually of a Yemeni child pulled from the rubble resulting from a Saudi bombing in Yemen.

I pointed out that Israel has allegedly killed 7,000 Palestinians, while the Saudis have killed at least 150,000 Yemeni Muslims. Some estimates suggest upto 300,000.

How can we call the current conflict a 'genocide' when what the Saudis did is hardly even discussed by Muslims? Don’t get me started on 200,000 Muslims killed by Bashar Al Asad in Syria.

He responded that if that's the case, he also disagrees with what the Saudis did. I replied, 'How convenient. Nearly half a MILLION fellow Muslims have been killed by other Muslims, and you didn't even know about it. Yet when Israel retaliates against a terrorist organization that has killed, raped, and maimed 1,500 of its citizens, the whole Muslim world reacts?'

It seems to have less to do with preserving Muslim lives and more to do with a religious fantasy of hostility toward Jews.

So you can understand why the world stands against #Hamas terrorists in #Gaza: If #Israel puts down its gun tomorrow, it will be another holocaust the day after. However, if Hamas were to lay down its arms, we could potentially achieve a Palestinian state and bring about peace in the Middle East without the involvement of Iranian proxy wars.

It is not a land dispute. It is about the existence of a nation. It's about their belief that you can have a country, and your belief that they shouldn't exist on planet Earth.
