@Super70sSports Truly awful as a Detroit fan. In the long run, maybe it helped. Detroit had to get past that great Celtics team, and it wasnโt easy. But what a play by Bird.
@AtoZ_Payton He has such a sharp eye for talent. I just wish he would avoid the urge to trade up so often and maybe consider a trade back occasionally. Ironically, his best draft was the one where he traded back. I think he will always have a shopping list rather than a normal draft board.
@erikschlitt Downs is incredible. He is better than anyone who has been linked to Detroit at 17. However, I donโt think they have the ability to make a big move. Too many holes and too many lost draft picks. But he could be a future Pro Bowl safety.
@HonoluluBlues_ I predict they will throw a little curve and go DE Kendrick Faulk if he is there. Personally, I would prefer the Penn St guard who is supposed to be the best at his position in several years, Ioane, unless OT Freeling or Fonu fall to pick 17.What would they do if Mauigoa falls?
@HonoluluBlues_@PSchrags Not good. Look, I hope the guy makes the Hall of Fame, but personally I would not go that route even if Detroit traded back to the 20s and added an extra pick.
@DetroitOnLion Not a fan of trading up this year. Maybe if it only costs a late day 3 pick, but generally no. Iโve already lived the Gibson, Roque, McDougle experience, so I am a BIG no on Proctor. There are going to be quality options with a higher floor available.
@deeptocenter I remember the Lorenzen trade and I thought Lee was a decent prospect to get. I want to see him do well. Cruz has been a real surprise to me. As I recall, when he was first drafted he could not hit water if he fell out of a boat. Glad to see him develop. He has earned a shot.
@woodwardsports@umichbball Looks very talented. Just wish these young men would stay in one place, especially when they are already at a good school. But who wouldnโt want to play for Dusty May?
@barstoolsports What a finish! The NCHC is the SEC of college hockey (7 of the last 9 national championships) and Denver was ranked top 5 in the country. They can play. UM is outstanding and played well enough to win, but a top NCHC team winning a game against anyone is not shocking to me.
@IffyTheDopester I gave up that membership card years ago but that team back in the late 1970s was fun. I was a big fan then. Green, Hubbard, and a shout out to Staton!
@deeptocenter Beautiful view of downtown and the location is great. The dimensions were bad from the outset. I think they envisioned an aggressive, fast team with gap hitters and good defense. They never really signed players to fit the park. They just keep moving in the walls.
@AtoZ_Payton Been following the draft for over 35 years. Every few years, one of those picks hits (just ask the Eagles), but 95% of the time the GM just looks like he thought he was the smartest guy in the room when he drafted a volleyball player on day two and it ends up going poorly.
