Iranian officials in the Hormozgan Province of Southern Iran have told the Financial Times that U.S. strikes early Wednesday targeted and destroyed two fresh water storage reservoirs with a combined capacity of 2,500 cubic metre, which supply water to 20,000 residents in the city of Kuhestak and 10 surrounding villages in the Bemani District. Though asked for comment, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) refused to confirm or deny whether strikes were carried out on reservoirs in Southern Iran.
If true, I have serious concerns about this being a war crime.
Under the laws of armed conflict:
Proportionality: the military advantage has to outweigh the anticipated civilian harm.
Hard to see what military advantage would outweigh robbing 20k people of drinking water.
@SecMullinDHS@DHSgov@WHTaskForceFIFA I sincerely hope there are no security issues or tragedies during the World Cup, but I wouldn’t trust this incompetent administration to maintain public safety.
Dear @SecRollins: You lie. The average life cycle of a Screwworm ranges from 14 to 54 days depending on temperature and humidity.
The trump Administration has been in office over 500 days.
If you can’t accept responsibility, or even apologize for messing up, you need to resign.
@WHFraudTF@VP@USLaborIG How can you continue touting your anti fraud efforts when your boss continues to pardon one after another? Stephen Buyer, for the latest example.
