Footpaths are primarily for pedestrians. There should be space for street vendors, but that should be regulated and controlled.
Also, just wiping out all street vendors (in that 1500km of roads) as Bangalore seems to have done seems like solution either.
@citizen_kau Don't forget lack of pedestrian crossings also. Too often pedestrians are forced to take risks. Here someone tried his luck in a curve on a large road.
@PPuzhu She asks me one more time, I tell 'wait' with hand gesture and keep my shopping cart in her way. My mother asks them to not cut line. Nearby people also start saying to go back in the line. They relent, but only went back behind me.
@PPuzhu I watch a family trying to cut line in a supermarket. The father goes front and sneaks into the line. I say to my mother 'Look, there's someone trying to cut line'. The father signals his wife. The wife has to come past me, I passive aggressively signal her to wait.
@saurabh_gunjal_ Need better judgement from the pedestrian. But can't blame too much, road isn't pedestrian friendly. Why is the car coming at high speed in a curve? 999 times you can manage, but 1 time it can cause crashes like this.
@thisis_drgsp People grieve in different ways. Some people cry, some people hold back their emotions and put a cherry front, so on.. don't read too much into it. Give people their space. Its not your GM.
Also skeptical of social conventions that demand you wail loudly or grieve certain way.
"Here’s a number that should embarrass a functioning democracy: @newslaundry and @thenewsminute have had over 250 hearings over the years. 250. Read that again. And going to court over and over again is exhausting. It takes money, time, and a lot of emotional energy. For news platforms, you’re not just supporting our #journalism, you’re supporting our right to exist"- @AbhinandanSekhr
I miss when "The News" was just a guy in a suit telling you what happened, instead of a 24 hour panic machine designed to make you hate your neighbor so you don't notice your rent went up 30%.
@vadakkus Anyone visiting any rural area will find migration crisis. Was reading about how a mayor in a rural town in Sweden says that he has to deal with depression of people who feel they are a failure at not having migrated out of their towns to cities.
Pedestrians need to stop jumping into traffic and throwing their hands up to force moving vehicles to stop, just so they can cross.
This isn’t your granddad’s road. Cross watchfully.
