Some Korean netizens are seriously up in arms over a scene from Teach You a Lesson and at this point I’m wondering if people are just looking for things to be angry about. 😭

The controversy started after a teacher, played by Jin Ki Joo, fired back at a rude student who asked if she’d had plastic surgery.
Her response?

“Yeah, I got surgery. Breast reduction surgery. But it doesn’t seem like anyone in this class needs it, so I won’t be accepting further questions.”

The scene quickly went viral on Korean online communities, with some viewers criticizing the dialogue as old-fashioned and claiming it was inappropriate. Others argued that the joke was unnecessary and that the script missed the mark.
But not everyone agreed with the backlash.
Many viewers pointed out that the line was clearly meant to be a sarcastic comeback to a disrespectful student and questioned why people were treating it like a serious statement. Some also argued that breast reduction surgery is a legitimate medical procedure and that merely mentioning it shouldn’t be controversial.
The debate has since split viewers, with one side calling the scene outdated and the other side wondering whether people are overanalyzing a single sarcastic line in a fictional drama.
