@OfAthenry It’s not about saving money. It’s about getting the most delicious fresh garden tomatoes that only exist in back yards and can’t be bought in a store anywhere. And having so many of the you have to make and bottle up gallons of salsa to keep them from going to waste. Its awesome
@FiredUpCoug This is like ranking a sports car a truck and a boat. They each have a different purpose. A&W is for rb floats, mug is for pizza, Barqs is for ice cold sipping with burgers or hot dogs outside in the summertime.
"There is a temptation in our day to be embarrassed by the strangeness of our own religion. To soft pedal the visions.
To rephrase the doctrine. To present a Mormonism that is essentially Protestant ethics with a few quirky historical footnotes, palatable to a secular friend at dinner.
Resist this.
The strangeness is the point.
The strangeness is the evidence.
No one invents a religion this strange on purpose.
No one in 1830 New York sits down and decides to fabricate angels, gold plates, a council of gods, three degrees of glory, vicarious work for the dead, and exaltation as the literal becoming of what God is.
You either received it or you made it up, and if you made it up you would have made up something easier to sell.
Joseph did not make it up. The strangeness is the fingerprint of the divine. Stop apologizing for the parts of the gospel that make the world uncomfortable. Those are the parts that are true."
@MattWalshBlog I think your taxes should be proportional to the number of kids you have. Zero kids highest tax bracket. Four kids lowest, five kids or more zero.
@glennbeck Glenn I love you and I trust you. How do we honor the revolutionary founders of the nation, peacefully practice Martin Luther king, and tolerate being robbed plundered and molested by the government all at the same time?
@Hashboz I’ve never seen a positive outcome when there was even just a moderately sizable inheritance left over for the kids to squabble over after mom and dad were both dead. In my mother’s case they all decided to fight about it and hate each other before my grandpa was even gone.
@BattleByrd Chevy pickup like early 90’s. Invest the remaining 4000 in the S&P 500, it’ll be worth enough to buy a gently used new one before the first one wears out.
@nicoraytruth Also interesting thing about iron handrails, when they are used frequently the oils and rubbing from our hands keeps the surface polished and prevents rust. When it’s not used or handled frequently it will rust QUICKLY! Lehi’s dream is definitive proof in my opinion.
@PearlKevinPrice Funny how if I asked the same exact question to my LLM it would give me the exact opposite answer. These LLM’s are sycophantic and are making people retarded. Maybe just accentuating retardisms? Maybe exposing retards? Not sure which cuz I’m a retard.
@rob_ferney@plasmarob Busy learning, do you suppose that after a very very very long time you’ll have asked all the questions and found all the answers?
In The Dark Knight (2008), Heath Ledger improvised the throw where The Joker throws a stack of money at Lau during this scene.
Actor Chin Han recalled, “It hit me square in the head... it goes like ‘boom.’”
“And then I was dazed for a second. And that was the first take..”
@Bless_ThisMess7 It’s too late. Shouldn’t have given them a device to begin with. If they want a phone they can get one on their own. They don’t need one unless they are in a position to pay for one themselves. If you need to reach them a modest flip phone is sufficient. Sounds extreme. It’s not
@FiredUpCoug Myself and two friends went to Taco Bell for lunch today. The total was $56 and some change. Taco Bell. I couldn’t believe it. Going back to my big handful of mixed nuts and grit it out until dinner lunch regimen tomorrow.
As a kid I never once saw a technician of any kind enter our home. My dad did it all. I didn’t know grown men invited other men to come into their house to fix a dryer or replace a water heater or run HVAC in a newly framed basement bedroom. And I now model the same behavior.
