Mandy Cohen, current @CDCDirector, talking and laughing about how she made policy decisions during COVID.
Her approach?
She would ask friends, "Well, what are you planning to do?" And they would casually agree on some policy on the phone and then do that.
Completely unreal.
The final word on protein and elderly
Seniors simply aren't as good at utilizing protein as younger people. Any studies comparing plant to animal proteins in younger people do not apply to older people.
When you limit your research to senior citizens, the picture gets very clear: animal protein is superior to plant protein, gram for gram.
First screenshot describes how in healthy elderly incorporating animal proteins (whey and casein) into plant protein is better at promoting amino acid blood profiles linked to muscle protein synthesis than plant protein alone. Implicit is the fact that whey and casein are both better at stimulating leucine and methionine levels than either the plant/animal blend or isolated plant proteins.
Second screenshot describes how elderly who drank a whey shake post exercise had improvements in muscle protein synthesis rates and reduction in breakdown while those who drank a whey/soy/casein blend only had a (smaller) reduction in muscle breakdown and no improvement in synthesis.
If you think "lab meat" would come with lower emissions than real meat, think again.
Well on the contrary: according to a new cradle-to-gate life cycle assessment, its impact would be orders of magnitude higher (4-25x !!) than median beef production.

USDA nutrition advice. A lot to question here but to start: why is "sparkling water" a "nutrient dense" food? I get that it's better than a soda, but a poster child for nutrient dense foods? I don't think so. Shredded wheats also a fail. Whatever nutrients it has are artificial supplements.
19 studies/6 million people. In 8, those w/ highest LDL lived as long as those with normal/low LDL. In 9, those w/ high LDL lived the longest. Conclusion: High LDL not asso w/ reduced lifespan. LDL promotes immune function & pathogen elimination.

1955 John Gofman, Berkeley: Excess refined carbs cause liver to overproduce Triglycerides (TG), which, in turn, reduces HDL. Never refuted and confirmed, these findings threaten cholesterol & fat as culprits - have been swept under the rug for decades.
FUN FACT: This huge 2019 study on over 12 MILLION people showed that folks with a total cholesterol between 210-240 mg/dl had the LOWEST rates of death and that very LOW total cholesterol was WORSE than very high cholesterol
FUN FACT; This huge European study looking at 18 countries and over 130,000 people showed that higher CARBOHYDRATE intake was associating INCREASED cardiovascular death and that higher FAT intake associated with LOWER cardiovascular death
Former President of the Australian Medical Association Dr Kerryn Phelps has revealed she suffered a serious vaccine injury and said the true rate is far higher than acknowledged due to threats from medical regulators. https://t.co/EVppI3nezI
1/New study from Cleveland Clinic demonstrates that the risk of a COVID infection goes up with number of doses of the jab. See graph below. They admit that this is unexpected and they call into question the effectiveness of mRNA. What follows are direct quotes from their paper>
