Two developments this week tell the story about #TamilNadu’s infrastructure future.

✈️ Parandur Airport : an advanced project, with approvals and land acquisition already underway is now being cancelled. Back to searching for a new site.

🏟️ Global Sports City : foundation stone laid, contract awarded and construction ready to move but now contract terminated. Back to redesigning the project.

One can say Governments have every right to review projects but restarting execution is NOT cost-free.

Every reset means lost time, contractual complications, escalating costs and delayed infrastructure.

Tamil Nadu became India’s manufacturing powerhouse because we learnt to plan ahead of demand and execute with urgency.

It's ok if one wants to Dream bigger, Improve plans and Build bigger but, Tamil Nadu simply cannot afford to keep going back to the drawing board.

Please don't politicise development.

In Karaikudi, right opposite Minister Prabhu’s dental hospital, there is 2.3 acres of temple land worth about ₹120 crore.

How is it that after they came to power under the TVK government, a patta that had not been registered for so many years is now being registered in a private individual’s name? On top of that, they conducted the entire inquiry just as a formality in a single day, using the Revenue Officer.

The Special Tahsildar — whose only duty is to protect temple land — has issued an NOC for this.

Today, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru @TVKVijayHQ announced in the assembly that the TN Government has decided to cancel the Parandur Airport Project. TN CM mentioned that certain sites are under consideration, but it would have been helpful if he had also proposed a new site for the second airport near Chennai, as the delay in identifying its location has set the state's development back by at least 10 years.

This announcement of the cancellation of the new airport project carries an opportunity cost that the State Government needs to consider carefully. Even if the TN Government chooses to move forward with a second airport instead of Parandur through an administrative decision soon, finding a site, taking approval from the Central Government and statutory bodies, issuing tenders, acquiring land, and securing licenses could take at least ten years before the airport becomes operational. Meanwhile, other States would be advancing, leaving us behind.

We should first accept that the current airport in Chennai is insufficient even by today's standards. Chennai’s airport spans a 1300-acre land parcel; Hyderabad's airport spans approximately 5,500 acres; Bengaluru's spans 4000 acres; Navi Mumbai's is built on 2866 acres; and Delhi airport spans 5100 acres. With such a small space, the current airport in Chennai should ideally offer a better customer experience, but taking local transport from the arrivals area is a nightmare today.

Chennai was once the gateway of South India. Today, Chennai airport ranks 5th in total passenger-handling capacity, with a capacity of 30 million passengers per year. Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad are above Chennai on this table. The present Chennai airport is not classified as a Code F airport due to inadequate taxiways and aerobridges, which make landing large aircraft such as the A380 unsuitable at Chennai. In the South, the Bengaluru and Hyderabad airports can handle large aircraft.

Considering the above, I request the TN Govt to accelerate the process of identifying a suitable location for the 2nd airport in Chennai at the earliest, as delays in site identification could push us well beyond 10 years. Parties may come and go. Governments will change. But 20 years later, when the people of Tamil Nadu look back, they should not feel suffocated by a sick building that we would still call an airport, because the administrators of the day lacked the ability to forecast.

Also, in March this year, news reports stated that the TN Govt had acquired 1,700 acres for the Parandur airport project, out of the 5,746 acres needed. What does the State govt now intend to do with this acquired land?

DAY NINE - ASTON MARTIN HIT & RUN

You probably heard of zero FIR…but have you seen a EMPTY FIR?

In the case of Janasena MP Lingamaneni Ramesh’s son Lingamaneni Sanjush who rammed into 26 year old sales girl Bharati Mukhi in Madhapur, near Inorbit mall with his Aston Martin car killing her instantly….this is the FIR that Madhapur police filed!

Just the name of the accused. Not his surname, not his father’s name, no identity- nothing!!!

Speaks volumes of their motives right??

Also - WHERE IS THE CCTV FOOTAGE??

The CCTV footage vanished like it never existed. Such amazing talent our police have.

Despite what the Telangana police are trying to project, they screwed up real bad!

Empty FIR, missing CCTV footage, watered down Sections….how do you all sleep at night knowing you did this??? You enabled this?

DAY EIGHT - Aston Martin Hit & Run case

Hyderabad, touted as one of the most surveilled cities in the world today has a curious case of missing CCTV footage.

Today is the eighth day of Aston Martin hit and run case involving 25 year old Lingamaneni Sanjush, son of Janasena MP Lingamaneni Ramesh.

Sanjush allegedly driving at a 120 km speed crushed a 26 year old poor salesgirl Bharati Mukhi, from Lifestyle, Inorbit Mall…when she stepped out for lunch.

Bharati Mukhi was declared dead on arrival by the hospital.

Sanjush is still not arrested.

CCTV footage of this entire incident is very magically “MISSING��!!! From Madhapur Inorbit Mall area which is one of the busiest places with so many IT companies.

Bharati Mukhi’s life doesn’t matter.
You and I, don’t matter.

We live and die like cockroaches in this country where rich brats like Sanjush get a free pass even after killing a girl!!!

Such a shame that Congress Government in Telangana is repeating the same story of shielding sons of rich & powerful men from opposition BJP & its allies.
